With more than 681,000 hectares of forest, the forest coverage rate reaching nearly 59%, the forests in Quang Nam are not only considered the "green lungs" of the Central region but also home to 1,129 species of higher plants, more than 50 species of large animals, 270 species of birds and dozens of rare species of reptiles and amphibians. In particular, the primeval forests stretching from the highlands of Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Nam Giang, Phuoc Son, Nam Tra My, ... to Nui Thanh, Phu Ninh ... are home to many endemic animals such as saola, gray-shanked douc langur, Truong Son muntjac, striped rabbit, striped-necked turtle, along with precious plants such as agarwood, chò chỉ, kim tuyen orchid, Ngoc Linh ginseng ...

Quang Nam has established biosphere reserves such as Cu Lao Cham, special-use forests such as national parks such as Song Thanh National Park, langur conservation areas, and natural species protection zones from forests to the sea. It can be affirmed that these areas have been strictly protected and in the process of protection, international organizations such as WWF, Green Viet and each resource of Quang Nam have focused on and joined hands to protect and preserve them.
In order to achieve the goal of protecting and developing forests associated with biodiversity conservation, Quang Nam province has so far established 7 nature reserves, including part of Bach Ma National Park, Song Thanh National Park, Sao La and elephant species and habitat conservation areas, Ngoc Linh Nature Reserve, My Son Relic Landscape Protection Area and Cu Lao Cham Marine Reserve.
In addition, there is Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An Animal Care and Conservation Park - a facility that contributes significantly to biodiversity conservation. These conservation areas play an essential role in maintaining natural, safe habitats for wildlife, creating favorable conditions for the long-term development of the ecosystem.
