Quang Tri: Timely rescue of 3 people trapped in the forest

On November 4, the police of Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri province, said they had just rescued three people trapped in the forest due to floods, at km27 of National Highway 9 - the border between Hieu Giang and Huong Hiep communes.

Previously, the Commune Police force received a report from the people that 3 citizens from Nghe An province, while exploiting cajuput forest in the above-mentioned area, were cut off by rising floodwaters, the road was eroded, and they could not get out.

Immediately after receiving the information, Hieu Giang Commune Police quickly deployed forces to the scene, coordinated with local people to grasp the situation, reassured the victims and urgently requested the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Provincial Police to support specialized vehicles to organize rescue.

In the conditions of heavy rain, fast flowing water and rugged mountainous terrain, the authorities made efforts to reach the isolated area. After nearly two hours of implementing the plan, at about 2:00 p.m. the same day, the working group was able to get all three people and four motorbikes out of the danger zone, ensuring absolute safety for people and property.

According to Hieu Giang Commune Police, the recent floods have been complicated, with many inter-commune roads deeply submerged and experiencing serious landslides. The police force advises people not to go into the forest or cross streams during heavy rains and to follow evacuation instructions to ensure safety.
