Planning of collection and transfer points for domestic solid waste

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document on the implementation of the Notice of Conclusion of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the results of reviewing and verifying locations and plans for implementing collection and transfer points for domestic solid waste (CTRSH) in the province.

In particular, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, provincial socio -political organizations; departments, branches, sectors; People's Committees of districts, towns, cities; People's Committees of communes, wards, and towns to continue to strictly implement the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee in Official Dispatch No. 1276-CV/TU dated November 27, 2024 on strengthening leadership and direction to strictly implement the management of solid waste; Official Dispatch No. 2902/UBND-KT dated September 20, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening the management of solid waste in the province.

Regarding the work of determining collection and transfer points for solid waste, the Provincial People's Committee proposes that after completing the arrangement of administrative units, the Department of Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors and the People's Committees of communes and wards to review and study specific planning options for collection and transfer points for solid waste in localities according to the provisions of law on environmental protection.

Walking around the major roads in Tay Ninh city and Hoa Thanh town, it is not difficult to see the image of garbage trucks being pushed by workers after collecting garbage from households and gathering them at one point on the road.

The accumulation of many garbage carts on the street while waiting for specialized vehicles to collect and transport for treatment not only affects the environment of the surrounding area but also causes loss of urban beauty.

Garbage collectors even use the entire area inside 30.4 Park (Tay Ninh city) to gather garbage carts, even though this is a public playground, a place for people to live and relax.

Therefore, the planning of solid waste collection points by localities to serve the collection and transportation of waste is in line with the current trend of socio-economic and urban development.
