(GLO)- On the morning of May 31, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province coordinated with Kbang district to launch the Leng Village Women's Gong Club (To Tung commune). This is a pilot club to implement the Project "Cultural and artistic activities program serving remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas for the period 2021-2030" in the province.
Attending the launching ceremony were representatives of the provincial Ethnic Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , the People's Committee of Kbang district, To Tung commune, and many people and members of the Leng village women's gong club.

The Leng Village Women's Gong Club was established in July 2014 and currently has 47 members. The club is a social organization, operating under the club's charter approved by the district People's Committee after the congress; complying with the provisions of law, under the direct management of the To Tung Commune People's Committee and agencies related to the club's activities; having legal status, its own seal and account, self-insurance of funding, headquarters and means of operation.
The establishment of the Leng Village Women's Gong Club affirms the unique cultural values of the locality; creates conditions for preserving and promoting traditions, contributing to introducing and promoting the image of Kbang to friends inside and outside the province; is a typical example for gong teams in the province to learn and follow.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: After the establishment of the Club, it received support from the Project "Cultural and artistic activities program serving remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas for the period 2021-2030" of the province in 2022 with a budget of 452 million VND. This amount of money helps the Club purchase gongs, costumes, sound systems, and support training costs for members.
“To maintain regular activities in the coming time, the Department recommends that the People's Committee of Kbang district and the People's Committee of To Tung commune continue to support and create the best conditions for the club to operate; pay more attention to the work of preserving and promoting local cultural values. For club members, continue to promote and spread the love for traditional folk arts; guide and attract more new members to join. At the same time, the Department also recommends that localities in the province study and learn from the model of the Leng village female gong club to replicate it in their localities...”- Mr. Hoang emphasized.
