The event was held on the evening of April 25 in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of many artists, media and fans.
The event gathered a large cast, including veteran names such as: Meritorious Artist Kim Phuong, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan, and artists loved by the audience such as Kieu Trinh, Long Dep Trai, Quach Ngoc Tuyen, Thuy Anh, Ngoc Tuong, Ammy Minh Khue, Hong Thu, Bao Ngoc, Tin Nguyen, Doan The Vinh, Anh Tu Wilson, Ho Dong Quan, Kim Hai, Tram Anh, Le Thu, Dai An, Linh Barbie, TikToker Le Tuan Khang...

Notably, this is also the first time that the children of Ly Hai - Minh Ha: Rio, Cherry, Mio and Sunny also appear in the film with different roles.
“Ly Hai was really overwhelmed when he saw everyone walking out of the theater with red and swollen eyes. Many viewers immediately shared with Ly Hai that they cried 2-3 times, some cried 3-4 times, it was very touching, everyone saw themselves in it,” director Ly Hai shared.

He also said that everyone has a family with many different versions. Some people are supported by their family, others are not. But the sacrifice of a father is always very quiet, and there are things that are very different from the sacrifice of a mother. That is why he believes that the film will "touch" all audiences, regardless of generation.
The special thing about Lat mat 8 is that director Ly Hai focuses a lot on the music , with more than 30% of the film's duration devoted to artistic performances. This is not only a challenge for the actors but also a bold step to expand the emotional range of Vietnamese cinema.

Lat mat 8 revolves around the character Tam, a 17-year-old boy with a passion for music living in the sunny and windy Central region. Tam's dream of pursuing art is restrained by the expectations and strict views of his father - Mr. Phuoc.
The tense conflicts between father and son truly reflect generational pressure, family prejudices and the desire of young people to be themselves. The story ends with an open embrace - a sunny embrace as a symbol of forgiveness, tolerance and healing.
After the premiere, the film will have early screenings from April 27 before officially opening nationwide from April 30.
In particular, director Ly Hai will make a journey to meet and inspire many universities across the country, spreading the message of passion, effort and empathy through art.
Following the premiere, from April 29 to May 15, the film crew will conduct a series of cinetours to interact directly with audiences in Hanoi , Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the Central and Southwestern regions.
