Rio Ferdinand has heaped praise on Casemiro and recalled the war of words between him and Jaime Carragher that lasted from last year.

Rio Ferdinand continued to mention the argument between him and Carragher last year, when the Liverpool legend hinted that Casemiro should retire amid his decline in form.

"This reminds me of what Jaime Carragher said about Casmiro 'stop playing football'.

At that time, I thought it was disrespectful to talk about a five-time Champions League winner who was going through a change in his approach to football, coach Amorim had just taken over at MU.
