Bustling "Full Moon Festival Night" in Son La city in 2023

On the evening of September 28 (ie August 15 of the lunar calendar), at Tay Bac Square, Son La City People's Committee organized the program "Full Moon Festival Night" in 2023.

Attending the gala night were comrades: Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ha Trung Chien, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, socio -political organizations of the City, communes, wards and a large number of people and teenagers and children in the City.

At the festival, the children listened to the City leaders read the letter fromthe President to the children on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023; learned about the origin and meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival; enjoyed modern singing, dancing, and cheering performances by Cuoi, Hang Nga, lion and dragon dances, and moonlit feasts...

Also at the festival, there was a competition to present the Mid-Autumn Festival trays. From fruits, with skillful hands and creativity, 7 teams from the wards of Chieng An, Chieng Le, Chieng Coi, Quyet Thang, Quyet Tam, Chieng Sinh, and To Hieu trimmed and shaped them into cute and funny animals, decorated with traditional candies to make the trays more attractive and beautiful.

The star lantern decoration and performance competition was the most exciting activity of the night. The teams brought to the festival large-sized models of Mid-Autumn lanterns in the shape of mascots, such as carp, horse, dragon, tiger, elephant… impressive, associated with stories in history as well as daily life, recreating traditional Vietnamese folk cultural values.

Coming to the "Full Moon Festival", the city's residents, teenagers and children can also watch hot air balloon performances performed by experts from Ballooning Media International Hot Air Balloon Company Limited, creating an additional highlight for the festival.

The "Full Moon Festival" program demonstrates the care and concern for children of the Party Committee and the government of Son La city; it is one of the activities to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the founding of the city on October 26. The festival also aims to honor and encourage students with excellent achievements in studying and national excellent student competitions; students with difficult circumstances to strive to become good children and good students.

At the end of the competition, the team from Chieng Sinh ward won first prize in the two competitions of decorating the tray of offerings and decorating and displaying star lanterns. The organizing committee also awarded second, third and consolation prizes to the teams.
