According to data from Ha Tinh Electricity Company, the province's domestic electricity output in August increased by 2.2% compared to July. Notably, electricity consumption increased during the hot days at the beginning of the month, with the highest daily electricity level reaching 7.05 million kWh/day. The record capacity was recorded at 1:00 p.m. on August 4 at 423.2 MW, the highest ever. This capacity increased by 14% compared to the maximum capacity of July 2025, and increased by 7.5% compared to the same period in 2024.
The reason for the increase in household electricity output in August was due to the high temperature in the area. Since the beginning of the month, Ha Tinh has recorded a heat wave lasting more than 10 days, considered the longest heat wave and the highest temperature of this summer.

Mr. Tran Duc Ba - Director of Ha Tinh Hydrometeorological Station said: "Unlike previous years, in the first months of summer (May, June, July), the weather was rainy and the temperature was not too high. Meanwhile, from the end of July to the first half of August, Ha Tinh experienced a 12-day heat wave. This was a long heat wave and the highest temperature of this summer. The daily temperature of the first 8 days of August ranged from 38.2 - 38.5 degrees Celsius; from August 8 to 11, at times, some places reached 39 degrees Celsius, extremely hot. At the same time, at the beginning of the month, the southwest wind blew strongly, and the sky was covered with clouds, so the weather was dry, hot and stuffy."
According to general assessment, harsh weather and prolonged heat are the reasons for the sudden increase in people's electricity demand, especially for high-capacity cooling devices such as air conditioners, refrigerators, electric fans, etc.
As of September 7, the province's total electricity output reached 32.6 million kWh, down 22% over the same period in August (41.8 million kWh).

Currently, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has promptly completed the work of repairing the power grid after storm No. 5, providing safe and stable power supply to all customers, meeting the needs of daily life, production and business of the people. Along with that, urgently checking and handling customer feedback on increased electricity bills in August, ensuring transparency, objectivity and legitimate rights of customers.
Mr. Phan Van Anh - Head of Sales Department (Ha Tinh Electricity Company) said: "Currently, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has applied remote measurement of electricity at nearly 100% of customers' electricity meters, ensuring objectivity and accuracy. To control the amount of electricity used, the company recommends that customers proactively check and monitor daily and monthly electricity consumption such as: accessing the website https://cskh.npc.com.vn/ or downloading the EVNNPC CSKH customer care app of the Northern Power Corporation on their personal smartphones... If you have any questions, customers can call the hotline number 19006769 or go to the nearest electricity management team for support".
To install EVNNPC's customer service app on your phone, customers access the App Store or CH Play (depending on the phone's operating system).
Next, customers enter the keyword "EVNNPC CSKH" or "Northern Electricity" in the search section, download and install. When needing to access, customers type their customer code in the login interface "Account name" and password provided by the electricity industry.

Regarding some reflections on social networks that after storm No. 5, some households lost power but the electricity output on EVNNPC's customer service application still showed positive (+), Ha Tinh Electricity Company urgently checked, verified and confirmed that there was no such case. At the same time, the unit directly contacted the Facebook account owner to compare data from the meter remote measurement system, clearly explained and requested to correct the information on the personal page to ensure the prestige of the electricity industry.
According to the leader of Ha Tinh Electricity Company, in fact, in the days after the storm, the power grid in many places was interrupted. To ensure people's daily life and production, the electricity industry has focused on maximum human resources and means to restore power supply. During this process, there were areas that were reconnected to the grid, but due to the continuing incident, there were still situations of power coming on and then going off again. When the power supply was restored in a short period of time, the system recorded the amount of electricity consumed. In addition, electrical appliances in the home, if not turned off or unplugged from the outlet, still consumed electricity, leading to data displayed on the application.

The electricity industry warns that after the storm, many power lines leading to homes and production facilities may be damaged, posing a potential safety risk and increasing the rate of power loss. Therefore, people and businesses need to proactively check, upgrade, and promptly repair the wiring system and electrical equipment in their homes and facilities.
In the long term, households and businesses can research and install rooftop solar power, both to reduce the pressure of electricity costs and to join hands with the electricity industry in using green energy, contributing to environmental protection and moving towards sustainable development.
