Ha Tinh strives to achieve 8.7% growth target in difficult context

Ha Tinh's economic growth in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 8.05%.

In the first 9 months of 2025, Ha Tinh's economic growth (GRDP) at comparable prices increased by 8.05% over the same period last year. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector decreased by 1.97%, reducing 0.26 percentage points to the overall growth rate; industry - construction increased by 11.3%, contributing 4.84 percentage points; services increased by 8.01%, contributing 2.77 percentage points; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 7.54%, contributing 0.7 percentage points to the overall growth rate.

According to the assessment of the Provincial Statistics, in the third quarter of 2025, the province's GRDP only reached 6.79%, lower than expected. The main reason was that natural disasters such as storms and floods affected agricultural production activities, leading to a 9.98% decrease in the growth rate of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, reducing the overall growth rate by 1.3 percentage points. In addition, for the steel industry, in addition to market difficulties, Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited had to maintain the No. 1 blast furnace for nearly a month, causing output to decrease compared to the same period last year.

Due to the impact of natural disasters, the total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the third quarter of 2025 decreased by 9.98%.

With this result and the current difficult context, achieving the growth target of 8.7% in 2025 as set by the Government is a huge pressure. In the final sprint of the year, Ha Tinh is making the most of its growth potential and focusing on solutions with the determination to reach the highest level.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Acting Chief of Provincial Statistics said: "The recent natural disasters and floods have severely affected the production activities of economic sectors. Assessing the factors contributing to growth from now until the end of the year, Ha Tinh identified the main growth driver as the industrial - construction sector with room for growth from packpin, cellpin factories, VinFast electric car factory; project works such as VSIP industrial park infrastructure, Gia Lach industrial park expansion..., public investment projects. In addition, the tourism - trade and service industry operating stably and vibrantly in the last months of the year is also expected to contribute to the overall growth of the province".

The service sector contributed 2.77 percentage points to economic growth in the first nine months of the year.

Determined to complete the target, all levels, sectors, localities and enterprises are focusing on overcoming difficulties, boosting production and business in all fields, speeding up the progress of ongoing investment projects, and accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital...

The recent storm No. 10 has caused serious damage to the province's socio-economic infrastructure, affecting the production and business of many enterprises, especially key enterprises in the Vung Ang Economic Zone. According to the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, the estimated damage caused by the storm in economic zones and industrial parks is more than VND 1,034 billion. In that context, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and relevant agencies have actively supported the restoration of production, stabilizing the situation to maintain economic growth.

VinFast electric car factory is one of the important driving forces contributing to the province's growth.

Mr. Pham Van Tinh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board said: "A number of factories, warehouses and technical infrastructure of many enterprises were severely damaged, production and business activities were interrupted, including the infrastructure of Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant - one of the key projects expected to create a breakthrough for growth.

Immediately after the storm, the Management Board directly came to grasp the situation, supported businesses to overcome the damage; directed and coordinated with units to urgently repair the electricity, water, telecommunications, and internal traffic systems, ensuring the earliest operating conditions for businesses. At the same time, the unit focused on promoting administrative procedure reform, promptly grasping and removing difficulties for businesses to produce and do business and implement new projects with the goal of not only recovering from natural disasters but also achieving stable and sustainable growth, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province in 2025 and the following years.
