Landslide on Tien River bank (Dong Thap): 6 houses damaged

The landslide went about 20 meters inland, about 100 meters long, causing damage to 6 houses.

On September 20, Mr. Bui Quoc Nam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Lanh Ward ( Dong Thap Province) said that local authorities are focusing on supporting people to overcome the consequences of the landslide on the Tien River bank (Cao Lanh Ward), which occurred in the early morning of the same day, causing damage to 6 houses. At the same time, temporary accommodation is arranged for people who lost their homes in this landslide.

Landslide seriously affected 6 houses along Tien River

Before that, at about 1 hour the same day, a landslide occurred on the Tien River bank in Tan Tich hamlet, Cao Lanh ward. The landslide section went about 20m inland, about 100m long (the area of ​​the landslide was about 2,000m 2 ).

The landslide seriously affected 6 riverside houses, estimated damage of more than 2 billion VND.

According to the People's Committee of Cao Lanh Ward, this area often experiences landslides. Recently, due to the impact of heavy rain combined with high tides, landslides have become more and more serious.

Cao Lanh ward authorities support people whose houses were damaged by landslides to relocate their property.

Previously, on September 14 and 17, also in Cao Lanh ward, two landslides occurred in the Ho Cu river area, affecting mango orchards and washing away a section of rural road. Notably, these two landslides were only about 1km apart.

Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee has put up danger signs in the landslide area and at the same time proposed the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province to propose the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee to survey and take urgent measures to respond and support affected people who have to relocate.
