Six students who gave up their seats to veterans at the April 30 ceremony were awarded certificates of merit.

These students are in their first year at the Faculty of Sociology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City). They received Certificates of Merit for their actions of giving up their seats to veterans during the recent 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The six students include: Nguyen Bao Nhat Anh, Duong Hoang Dung, Le Thi Phuong Hoa, Tran Thu Huyen, Nguyen Ha My and Nguyen Ngoc Tuyen.

This is a small but meaningful gesture, contributing to spreading the spirit of gratitude of the young generation to those who have contributed to the country.

According to Dr. Phan Thanh Dinh, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, with theeducational philosophy of "Comprehensive - Liberal - Multicultural", the school not only trains a dynamic, knowledgeable young generation, but also a young generation that knows how to share, sympathize and support everyone.

“These six students are typical of that young generation,” said Dr. Phan Thanh Dinh.

At the same time, he emphasized that awarding certificates of merit to students is a meaningful reward, encouraging students of the school and Ho Chi Minh City National University to continue spreading humane and compassionate actions to the community and society.

Student Duong Hoang Dung, representative of the group of students who received the certificate of merit, shared that the group's action was just a small one and believed that everyone would do the same for the veterans.

"I hope to spread the spirit of sharing and responsibility to the community with young people, contributing to building a civilized and humane society," said Hoang Dung.

Meanwhile, student Le Thi Phuong Hoa said that receiving the certificate of merit this time was an honor and a great surprise. This is a word of encouragement, motivation, and reminder for Phuong Hoa to live more responsibly towards the community and the country.
