On the morning of November 8, nearly 70 Lao and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City came to offer incense and flowers in memory of Heroic Martyr Vo Thi Sau (Dat Do Commune, Ho Chi Minh City). The activity is part of the program "Vietnamese families with Lao and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025" organized by the City Labor Federation in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union.
The program aims to strengthen people-to-people diplomacy, tighten friendship and sustainable cooperation among the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.

Attending the incense offering ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhung - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ke Toai - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training; Ms. Nguyen Thanh Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union; Mr. Lonphanh Phaodavanh - Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City.

Students perform a silent ceremony
At the incense offering ceremony, the students expressed their deep gratitude for the heroic sacrifice of martyr Vo Thi Sau, a daughter of Dat Do who fell for the independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people.
In a solemn atmosphere, delegates and students reviewed the tradition of steadfast struggle of the Vietnamese people. Through this program, the young people better understood the history, patriotism and indomitable will of the Vietnamese people.
Besides the incense offering at the monument of Heroic Martyr Vo Thi Sau, Lao and Cambodian students also visited the revolutionary base at Minh Dam Mountain. These activities helped students increase their understanding of Vietnamese culture, history, and patriotism, while also strengthening the bond between the three countries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the effective organization of the annual program "Vietnamese families with Lao and Cambodian students" has contributed to renewing foreign affairs thinking, promoting proactiveness and flexibility, and emphasizing practicality in international cooperation.
Through Vietnamese families who "sponsor" them, Lao and Cambodian students have the opportunity to experience daily life, bond emotionally and feel the warmth of their homeland.

Sharing with the reporter of the Vietnam Women's Newspaper, student Phinphana Viphonhiane, Lao nationality, studying International Business at Ton Duc Thang University, said this was the second time she participated in the companion program "Vietnamese families with Lao and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City".
"Every time I participate, I feel very happy and learn many new things. This trip is very meaningful because I get to visit historical sites, interact with Vietnamese families and students, and learn more about Vietnamese culture and people," Phinphana said.
