In the video shared by Ferdinand, he and Carrick were chatting enthusiastically at a restaurant when suddenly former coach Sir Alex Ferguson appeared in the background. With a curious look on his face, he asked loudly: "What is this?", when he saw the professional filming equipment.
Immediately, both Ferdinand and Carrick greeted in unison: "Hello boss!" with great respect. However, Sir Alex quickly affirmed in a half-joking, half-serious tone: "I'm not participating in this podcast!".
Both former Man United players quickly explained that the filming had nothing to do with him. "No, don't worry, boss. We'll talk to you later. You go have a coffee first," Ferdinand quickly said.
Carrick added: "We're almost done, we don't have to film for the boss." Sir Alex smiled and replied humorously: "I'll just sit here and listen to you guys talk nonsense." The atmosphere immediately became cheerful and cozy.

The hilarity continued just a few minutes later when Sir Alex's phone rang unexpectedly in the middle of the podcast recording. Ferdinand just laughed and said: "It's okay, it's the boss, carry on." This moment showed the absolute respect that the students had for the great captain.
Both Rio Ferdinand and Michael Carrick have a special respect for Sir Alex - the man with whom they have conquered countless major trophies in their careers. Carrick won 5 Premier League titles with Sir Alex, while Ferdinand was even more impressive with 6 trophies. The culmination was the 2008 Champions League and 2 League Cups, achievements that have engraved their names in the history of Manchester United.
During the podcast, the two former Man United stars reminisced about their time under Sir Alex and discussed Michael Carrick's coaching career. The former midfielder took charge of Middlesbrough from 2022, helping the team reach the Championship play-off semi-finals in his first season, before leaving the club last June.
Sir Alex's unexpected "interruption" moment brought much laughter and joy to the audience.
