On September 25, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Department had sent a warning to the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and districts about fraudulent survey links that illegally collect student information.
Mr. Minh affirmed that the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City does not advocate and implement the "survey to collect opinions from parents of students whose children have studied integrated English classes for one year or more" as stated in the purpose of the link spread on parent-student groups and forums.
Mr. Minh emphasized that this is an illegal link for collecting student information, so the Department of Education and Training has informed the Department of Education and Training and sent it to schools so that parents can get the information.
It is known that in recent days, groups and forums for parents on social networks have been spreading and sending each other survey links to get opinions from parents whose children are studying integrated English, requesting information: Which school is your child studying at? Which district is your child studying at?...
Many parents of students did not have time to research and provided information following the instructions of this illegal link.
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training confirmed that it did not organize a survey to collect opinions from parents as the link spread on the internet.
According to Mr. Minh, in recent times, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has recorded many cases of disclosing information about students and employees in the education and training sector on information channels and media in many different forms. In addition, there have been many forms of fraud and property appropriation that have infiltrated schools in recent times.
Therefore, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requests heads of units to direct their affiliated units to review and strictly implement the following contents: Absolutely do not publish personal data of students and employees at the unit in the form of file lists (word, excel, photos, PDF...) with detailed information without the consent of that individual on social networks, electronic information pages...
At the same time, the units review and remove previously published personal data information files. According to Decree 13/2023 of the Government, personal data includes basic personal data and sensitive personal data.
