Exciting Independence Cup football tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized the Independence Cup football tournament in Riyadh.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hoang Huu Anh emphasized that the Independence Cup football tournament is an event within the series of activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

On August 29th, amidst the historic autumn atmosphere celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized the Independence Cup football tournament with the participation of four teams: CEER Headquarters, Dai Dung, CEER Camel, and a combined team of the Embassy and the community, along with the enthusiastic support of a large number of Vietnamese people in Saudi Arabia and local friends.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Hoang Huu Anh emphasized that the event is part of a series of activities organized by the Embassy to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd (Community Football Tournament on August 29th, Art Exhibition on September 1st, National Day Celebration on September 22nd).

The event achieved three objectives: to emphasize the historical significance of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, as well as the efforts, unity, and solidarity of our nation over the past 80 years in the struggle for national reunification and development of Vietnam to this day; to continue spreading the image of Vietnam and its people to the people of Saudi Arabia; and to further strengthen community bonds and create a healthy platform focused on the homeland.

Guided by the spirit of "Driving for national pride and passion for football; prioritizing fun and health; and emphasizing unity and solidarity," the teams dedicated themselves to the game with great enthusiasm, showcasing professional skills and strong teamwork, delivering many spectacular moments for the audience.

With an outstanding performance, the CEER Camel team won the Independence Cup amidst cheers and applause from the local community and friends.
