Rotten wooden bars affect the movement of people and tourists.

According to the reporter's records on the afternoon of May 9, the ironwood pedestrian bridge attracted a large number of people and tourists to walk, exercise and sightsee. In particular, from the starting point on Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street to the end point in the park opposite Hue Central Hospital, some ironwood planks were damaged and rotten, affecting the movement of people, especially tourists.

“The walking and sightseeing route is so beautiful, especially at sunset. However, when walking on this route, I sometimes have to stop because there are many rotten, broken wooden planks with sharp nails, which is very dangerous. I hope the authorities will soon fix it to ensure safety and urban beauty for the route,” said Thu Minh, a tourist from Vung Tau City.

According to the leader of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of Thuan Hoa District, the ironwood pedestrian bridge is one of the projects that the management unit, the Green Park Center of Thuan Hoa District, regularly maintains and repairs depending on the level of damage and degradation. In particular, with the characteristics of being located on the riverbank, often soaked in water and exposed to the sun, the wooden bars are inevitably damaged. Immediately after receiving feedback from the people, the district directed the management unit to repair and replace the damaged wooden bars to ensure the safety and aesthetics of the bridge.

It is known that previously in February 2025, the Thuan Hoa District Green Park Center also mobilized human resources to implement construction, replacing nearly 60 damaged ironwood bars; in which the longest bar is more than 2.5m, 15cm wide, 5cm thick. This is the amount of wood that was reserved for replacement in advance to create uniformity for the bridge.
