Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially flies to Phu Quoc

This morning, November 1, Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially took off its first flights to Phu Quoc, marking the beginning of Vietnam's first resort airline.

This morning, Vietnam's sky welcomed a new "wing" when Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) of Sun Group officially entered commercial operation.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways' first flights landed at Phu Quoc International Airport in a water cannon welcome ceremony.

At exactly 7:15 a.m., the first commercial flight of Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) with the number 9G1203 departed from Noi Bai airport, bringing the first 220 passengers to Phu Quoc Island on an Airbus A321. The following flights 9G1969 (8:50 - 9:50) from Ho Chi Minh City and 9G2969 (8:35 - 10:20) from Da Nang also took off later, simultaneously heading towards the center of Phu Quoc.

True to its strategic commitment, Sun Group is accompanying the development of the Pearl Island, contributing to making Phu Quoc an attractive international destination, a new regional air transit hub.

In particular, the Da Nang - Phu Quoc flight is a special welcome flight on the occasion of the opening. The Da Nang - Phu Quoc flight is expected to be operated regularly from March 2026. The remaining three domestic routes: Phu Quoc - Hanoi , Phu Quoc - Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City are officially operated regularly by Sun PhuQuoc Airways from November 1.

“Today is a very special day for Sun Group and Sun PhuQuoc Airways. This is not only the beginning of a new airline, but also the beginning of a new way of doing things where aviation and tourism go hand in hand to bring different experiences,” said Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, General Director of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

On the first day of operation, in addition to the flight card stamped “first flight - 1st flight”, each passenger seat of the flights is equipped with a souvenir set bearing the Sun symbol of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, specially designed as a welcome and gratitude to the first passengers in its memorable starting milestone. Along with that, each passenger is also specially served a cake from Eric Kayser - a famous French bakery brand with nearly three decades of global development.

On the first flight from Hanoi to Phu Quoc, passengers were also given a special “musical gift”. The melodies in the “clouds” created a relaxing and emotional atmosphere, leaving each passenger with beautiful impressions.

On the occasion of take-off, the airline also introduced on the flight two exclusive bilingual publications: SPA Magazine and Phu Quoc travel guide - SPA Visit Phu Quoc. SPA Magazine is for readers who love travel and culture, providing unique perspectives and dimensions of knowledge about many lands across Vietnam and around the world, from travel bloggers, photographers and pioneers in the fields of art and creativity.

Each passenger also received a special treat from Eric Kayser.

The successful takeoff of Sun PhuQuoc Airways' first flights has not only added a new brand and new flight options at reasonable costs to the Vietnamese aviation market, making it easier for passengers of all ages to access Phu Quoc, but also contributed to meeting the increasing travel and tourism needs of people during the golden season of Phu Quoc and the upcoming Lunar New Year 2026. The airline plans to expand its flight network and increase frequency from the beginning of 2026.

In particular, the flight routes connecting the tourist paradises of Da Nang - Phu Quoc and Nha Trang - Phu Quoc will be put into regular operation in March 2026. From 2026, the airline plans to expand to direct international flights from Phu Quoc to South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and India.
