Reuters on April 2 quoted a source from the Syrian Defense Ministry as saying that the Israeli army had carried out a raid on an outpost of this country in the border area in Homs province. Some sources from Western intelligence also revealed that a series of air bases in Syria were attacked by Israel in the past day.

This is considered the third attack carried out by Israel on Syrian military bases since March 30. In the incident on March 30, many targets in the capital Damascus were hit by Israeli missiles, causing damage to facilities and injuring two soldiers.

In recent times, Israel has continuously carried out attacks on Syrian airports and military bases with the excuse of preventing Iran from using these airports to supply its allies in Syria and Lebanon, including the Hezbollah organization that Israel considers a terrorist organization.

On March 22, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on Aleppo International Airport, causing damage and forcing the airport to temporarily suspend operations.

Previously, in September 2022, an air raid was also organized by the Israeli army against Damascus International Airport and many other targets in the southern area of the Syrian capital. Syrian authorities confirmed that their air defense forces shot down most of the Israeli missiles. However, some missiles still hit their targets, killing at least 5 Syrian soldiers and damaging many infrastructures.
