On the afternoon of November 14, in Tuy Hoa City, the Green Development Support Center (GreenHub) in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment organized a training workshop to guide the application of MRF material recovery areas (a specialized waste sorting and recycling system that receives, separates and prepares recycled materials for marketing to end-user manufacturers) in zero-waste communities.
At the workshop, experts and functional units shared plans to implement the classification of domestic solid waste at source in the province; apply lessons learned from some localities in the country and abroad in conjunction with waste classification and reduction models; challenges, some practical models and recommendations for Phu Yen ; guide methods to apply zero-waste practices in the community...
According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the unit has developed regulations on the management of domestic solid waste in the province. Accordingly, by 2024, 100% of local authorities from district to commune level will issue programs and plans on the classification, recycling, reuse and treatment of domestic solid waste.
Develop propaganda documents and form a team of propagandists at district and commune levels. Arrange land for collection points and transfer stations for domestic solid waste, with priority given to combining hazardous waste and bulky solid waste reception points.

By 2025, the system, network and team for collecting and transporting domestic solid waste from district to commune level will be completed, and the means of transport will be upgraded.
Put into operation collection points and transfer stations. Issue routes, frequencies and times for collection and transportation of domestic solid waste (including plans for hazardous and bulky waste collection). Issue unit prices for collection, transportation and treatment of domestic waste in the province. 100% of communes will pilot classification. After 2025, the rate of correct classification will reach 50% or more.
100% of production, business, service establishments, medical facilities, supermarkets, commercial centers, state agencies, schools, accommodation establishments, restaurants, tourist spots/areas, bus stations, train stations, fishing ports... carry out waste classification... The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is organizing to collect comments to complete this regulation.
