During surgery, the right toe 1 was crushed and the right foot metatarsal bones 3 and 4 were fractured. The doctors repaired the stump of the right toe 1, cut and removed the bone of the 3 and 4 metatarsal bones.

After 3 days of surgery, the patient is currently awake and stable, the incision on his right leg is dry, he continues to be monitored at the department and is expected to be discharged in the next few days.

Male patient, D.VT, 50 years old, in Ha Nam is also being treated for spinal injury due to a work accident at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.

Mr. T. has been a construction worker for over 10 years but has never used protective gear while working. Due to carelessness, he fell from a high scaffolding and broke his vertebrae.

Mr. T. said: "We work in the private sector without any protection, insurance or equipment to protect us."

Knowing that there are many unfortunate risks, no one wants an accident but now I have to endure it, I just hope to be cured so I can go back to work soon because I am the main breadwinner in the family."

At Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, the number of occupational accidents such as falling from scaffolding, collapsing walls, brick making machines, saws, plows, etc., being hospitalized is increasing and most workers are not equipped with protective gear.

Workplace accidents can cause only minor injuries, but more serious injuries include broken arms and legs, many cases requiring amputation of arms and legs, and some cases of paralysis, loss of mobility, and lifelong vegetative state. This not only affects the workers but also becomes a burden for their families and society.

Doctors recommend that people need to be careful during the labor and production process, need to be fully equipped with necessary labor protection equipment and strictly comply with labor safety regulations to avoid tragic accidents.
