On the first official competition day of the Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023 golf tournament, young golfer Nguyen Anh Minh was grouped by the Organizing Committee with "veteran" Michael Campbell, who defeated legend Tiger Woods to win the 2005 US Open golf championship.

Playing against legends for the first time, Anh Minh did not start well, he only got 2 birdies at holes 5 and 17, had 6 bogeys and a double bogey, thereby ranking T12. However, Anh Minh often plays well when "warmed up" and the next day of competition is an opportunity for the Vietnamese player to improve his ranking, overcome the cut to enter the "final". While Anh Minh had a bad start, another player, Le Chuc An, had an impressive day with the 2nd position on the ranking for amateur golfers.

The golfer leading the amateur rankings is Nguyen Minh Tuan. Starting at tee 1 with two legends Raymond Russell and Vanslow Luke Phillips, Minh Tuan played very confidently. While Russell and Phillips both bogey at the par-4 hole 1, he had his first birdie. In the following holes, the golfer who represented Vietnam in the final round of the World Amateur Championship (WAGC) continued to show his top form. Finally, he completed the first official day of competition with a score of 70 strokes.

On today's competition day, the official competition round includes 60 legendary professional athletes in the Legends Tour system and 30 professional and amateur Vietnamese athletes. After 2 rounds, the 15 amateur athletes with the best scores will participate in the final round, forming 5 teams of 3 people with separate starts and competing for the Best Amateur award, while the legendary professional athletes form 20 teams of 3 people to find the champion (based on gross points).

After the first day of competition, on the legendary golfer rankings, Adilson da Silva and Scott Hend are leading with a score of -5, followed by Jyoti Randhawa and Greig Hutcheon with a score of -4. Da Silva, who teed off at the 2016 Olympics, is also one of three people, along with Simon Brown and Ricardo Gonzalez, who won eagles on the first day of official competition. In addition, the legendary golfers also showed their world-class skills with 19 golfers scoring under.
