Goodbye friendly and lovely Cambodia

The 32nd SEA Games has ended with the overall first place belonging to the Vietnamese sports delegation. That is a proud achievement for us, but the host country Cambodia has also left a close, friendly, lovable and unforgettable image.

Cambodian police help Vietnamese reporters leave the country quickly after completing their mission at the 32nd SEA Games.

After nearly 20 days of reporting on the achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation competing at the 32nd SEA Games, the host country Cambodia has left behind many close, friendly and sociable images with Vietnamese reporters. In addition to supporting the quick printing of press cards and inviting the U22 Vietnam team to the air-conditioned room to wait until practice time, Cambodia is also very attentive to every small detail.

For Vietnamese reporters who are going abroad for the first time, they do not have to worry too much about phone SIM cards to use for internet connection and sending articles back to the agency. Because before leaving, a telecommunications company in Vietnam sponsored each reporter with a SIM card to use freely, including calling to Vietnam. When arriving in Cambodia, everyone was even happier when the host country gave them another SIM card with a validity of 1 month, while the 32nd SEA Games only lasted less than 20 days.

Not only that, whenever an unexpected situation occurs, regardless of whether it is service staff, management, citizens or police, they are always ready to support reporters and Vietnamese fans when they encounter problems. On the night of May 5, after the opening ceremony ended, the writer and a group of 5 reporters could not catch a bus back to the capital Phnom Penh because of high travel demand, many people were in the same situation as the reporter group. Immediately, the police officers present there started talking and asking questions. After knowing the situation, they immediately supported us by finding empty Cambodian buses going back to the capital Phnom Penh for us to go with. My brothers and I returned to the hotel in a pickup truck owned by an architect. He was so enthusiastic that he took us to find a late-night restaurant when he knew we had not eaten anything since 4 p.m.

On the day of returning to Vietnam, the Southern reporters chose to travel by road because it was fast and convenient. At Moc Bai border gate (Tay Ninh province), after knowing that we were reporters who had just returned from working at the 32nd SEA Games, the local police enthusiastically assisted us with quick exit procedures, and then took souvenir photos. There were many happy and sad memories during the 20 days in Cambodia, but the most memorable was probably the fact that the host country of the 32nd SEA Games successfully organized the event that they hosted for the first time. There, the closeness, friendliness and hospitality are what Cambodia scored special points with friends in the region and the world .
