Hue Festival Trade Fair 2024 temporarily suspended due to storms and heavy rain.

On September 19th, information from the Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province indicated that the Organizing Committee of the Hue Festival 2024 Trade Fair had agreed with the proposal from many businesses to temporarily suspend product display activities at the fair due to force majeure circumstances, affected by storms and heavy rain.

The Festival 2024 trade fair, held from September 16-22, featured the participation of 231 businesses and organizations from within and outside Thua Thien Hue province, with 227 booths showcasing and introducing their products.

The leaders of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade hope that this event will promote trade activities, giving provinces and cities the opportunity to introduce their potential, strengths, and economic, cultural, and social achievements; connect trade, investment, culture, and tourism; promote product brands; and foster cooperative trade relations in many aspects between localities.

Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, visited and encouraged businesses participating in the fair.

Following the opening ceremony of the fair, many tourists and locals visited the booths and made purchases. In addition, business networking activities between enterprises and suppliers were very lively, achieving many of the expected results.

However, due to the impact of a tropical depression intensifying into a storm, heavy rain and strong winds significantly affected the booths. To ensure safety, many businesses, cooperatives, and booths from the Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Centers/Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion Centers of the provinces voluntarily ended their product displays at the 2024 Festival Trade Fair ahead of schedule. The suspension of product displays was a force majeure situation to ensure the safety of people and goods participating in the fair.

Earlier, on the afternoon of September 18th, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, and members of the Organizing Committee met with and encouraged businesses, production and trading establishments, and cooperatives participating in the Fair. They also requested the Fair Organizing Committee to consider the proposals and suggestions from businesses regarding the preservation of goods.

For some units that still wish to remain because they have not yet prepared a plan for transporting their goods back, the event organizers are requested to continue to cooperate, support, and create all conditions to ensure the safety of these units.
