Postponing the organization of the "Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival" in 2025

VHO - On November 5, the Organizing Committee of the Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival announced the postponement of the "Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival" in 2025.

According to the Organizing Committee of the Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival (Organizing Committee), implementing Decision No. 3470/QD dated September 29, 2025 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on promulgating the plan to organize the "Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival" in 2025, the Organizing Committee has deployed a number of tasks related to the organization of the Festival according to the content of Notice No. 01 dated October 28 of the Organizing Committee of the Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival in 2025.

However, due to the impact of the weather, the Organizing Committee decided to postpone the "Central Region Bai Choi Singing Festival" in 2025, scheduled to take place from November 14-15, 2025; the new organization time is expected to be at the end of November 2025.

“The weather situation in the Central region is complicated, with widespread rain, storms and flooding; at the same time, storm 13 (Kalmaegi storm) is forecast to make landfall directly in the Central region in the coming days,” the Organizing Committee stated the reason for postponing the event.

Accordingly, during the suspension of the Festival, the Organizing Committee requests agencies and units to continue to fully prepare the contents, scripts and programs in accordance with the regulations in Decision No. 3470 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. At the same time, carry out the tasks that need to be deployed in the coming time according to Notice No. 01 of the Organizing Committee.

Based on the actual weather situation, the Organizing Committee will consider and decide to adjust or change the Festival time at an appropriate time to ensure the safety of delegates and delegations participating in the Festival.

Bai Choi performance in Hoi An

Previously, according to the plan, the Central region Bai Choi Singing Festival was expected to take place from November 10-15, 2025 at An Hai Cultural House (No. 2 Vu Van Dung, An Hai Ward, Da Nang City).

This is an activity aimed at protecting and promoting the value of the intangible cultural heritage of the art of Bài Chòi according to the Law on Cultural Heritage and the 2003 Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO; meeting, exchanging, introducing and promoting to the public the unique folk performing art form of Bài Chòi singing, which has been listed by UNESCO in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Affirming the role of the community as the subject of heritage in preserving and promoting the value of the heritage of Bài Chòi singing, while honoring the artisans who are preserving and teaching this art form.

Along with that, it contributes to raising public awareness of the role of protecting and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage of the art of Bài Chòi in the heritage subject community in particular and in society in general.
