Strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods during peak season

On the morning of May 27, 2025, in Tan Chau town, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee - Head of Provincial Steering Committee 389 Le Van Phuoc chaired a meeting with the Working Group on prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods of the province and town to evaluate the initial results of the peak period of CBL, GLTM & HG in the province, and at the same time propose directions and tasks in the coming time.

Mr. Phuoc emphasized that it is necessary to proactively prevent, promptly detect and strictly handle violations in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

Attending the event were Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of Tan Chau Town Party Committee Nguyen Van Cop; Chairman of the Town People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Lam; Vice Chairman of the Town People's Committee Dang Van Ne and leaders of provincial and local departments and branches.

At the meeting, the units reported on the implementation of the peak period from May 15 to June 15, 2025 according to Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister . The peak period has initially detected, fought, prevented, and handled many cases and violators in the production and trade of fake milk, medicine, food, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc acknowledged the efforts of the sectors and localities, and requested to continue to promote solutions to prevent and combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. He emphasized the need to proactively prevent, promptly detect and strictly handle violations; increase forces, means and strictly control key routes and areas, especially border areas.

In addition, he also requested the forces to coordinate closely, maintain the effective operation of the Working Group; continue to promote propaganda, raise public awareness to create consensus, join hands to prevent and gradually push back smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights of consumers and businesses, stabilizing the market and ensuring social order and safety.
