Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy gave an overview of the socio -economic situation of the capital and the outstanding activities of the Hanoi Trade Union in recent times. She affirmed: The friendly and cooperative relationship between the Vietnam Trade Union and the Chinese Trade Union is increasingly strong, contributing positively to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Hanoi City Labor Federation hopes to continue receiving support from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the China General Confederation of Labor in strengthening cooperation between the Hanoi Labor Union and the Beijing General Confederation of Labor. The cooperation focuses on the following areas: Exchange of social security and welfare models to best ensure workers' rights in the context of a volatile global economy; promote training programs and exchange experiences to improve the qualifications and skills of union officials; organize cultural exchanges between union members of the two countries; share experiences in building modern inspection processes, applying technology in financial work, and monitoring union assets.
Liu Fei, Deputy Head of the Legal Affairs Department of the General Confederation of Labor of China, congratulated the achievements of the Capital Trade Union, especially in the organization arrangement and consolidation. He pointed out that the trade union activities of China and Vietnam have many similarities, especially in emulation movements and protection of workers' rights. The General Confederation of Labor of China always actively coordinates with legislative and judicial agencies to build policies, support workers in resolving disputes, and supervise the implementation of policies. He expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to strengthen exchanges, share models and innovative approaches to improve the effectiveness of trade union activities.
At the meeting, delegates listened to the representative of Longcheer Meiko Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. introduce the company's production and business activities and Trade Union activities. The two sides had a frank and substantive exchange on issues of mutual concern.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy said that Hanoi has ended the activities of 45 grassroots trade unions. Currently, the City Labor Federation directly manages 6,349 grassroots trade unions with more than 629,000 union members, and is continuing to establish 85 new trade unions in communes, wards and in industrial parks and high-tech parks in Hanoi. In recent years, the City Labor Federation has always innovated the content and methods of operation, focusing on protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. In 2025, the Hanoi City Labor Federation established 50 new grassroots trade unions, developing more than 10,000 union members; organized 30 training courses, fostering union officials for more than 3,000 people; conducted more than 2,000 inspections of compliance with the Trade Union Charter, more than 2,500 financial inspections, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
