Pig price today November 4:

*Pig price in the North:

On the morning of November 4, the Northern pig market recorded an additional price increase in: Phu Tho, Bac Giang , Ha Nam and Hanoi.

Accordingly, the price of live pigs in Bac Giang and Hanoi reached 64,000 VND/kg after adjustment, the same price as Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Thai Binh . The remaining localities kept transactions in the range of 61,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region

Pig prices in the Central Highlands region continued to be quiet in the first session of the week.

Currently, traders in this area are purchasing live pigs at prices ranging from 58,000 to 61,000 VND/kg. Of which, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Lam Dong are the provinces with the highest prices in the region, reaching 61,000 VND/kg.

In the Southern region

Southern region kept prices stable in the range of 59,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Dong Thap, Can Tho and Soc Trang have the highest price of live pigs in the region at 62,000 VND/kg. In contrast, the lowest price in the region is 59,000 VND/kg recorded in Ben Tre.

*According to Vietnambiz's third quarter 2024 live pig market report, domestic live pig prices are showing signs of increasing again by the end of 2024 due to the influence of many macro and micro factors in the livestock industry.

This report synthesizes fluctuations from domestic and international markets, especially the impact of disease factors, weather and policies from major countries.

Maybank IBG Research experts also noted that the increase will not be as high as in early 2024, as pig supply is gradually restored at some large farms.

With the above-mentioned epidemic situation, weather and market fluctuations, the price of live pigs during the 2024 Lunar New Year may increase, causing a major impact on people's consumption costs and the profits of livestock farming households.

This forecast, according to Vietnambiz, is based on supply and demand analysis and current instability in pork supply in Vietnam. The government and agricultural organizations should consider supporting livestock farmers to restore production and strengthen disease control to stabilize supply to meet demand during the upcoming holidays.
