Economic growth in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to increase by 5.66%

Many socio -economic indicators of Ha Giang in the first 6 months of the year increased compared to the same period in 2023.

The information was given at the June meeting of the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee held on June 28, to evaluate the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of 2024, and determine the directions and key tasks for the following months.

Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2024, national target programs and projects under the socio-economic recovery program were implemented synchronously and effectively; key projects were implemented drastically and construction progress was accelerated. The economy remained stable and developed, achieving a fairly good growth rate. The total product in the province at comparable prices is estimated at over 7,266 billion VND, up 5.66% over the same period, ranking 6th out of 14 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, and 41st out of 63 provinces and cities.

Important sectors and fields continued to develop, agricultural production was stable, the growth rate increased by 4.71%, maintained according to the seasonal framework, ensuring food security; disease prevention and control work on livestock and poultry was promptly implemented.

Total social investment capital reached over VND 6,510 billion, up 1.94% over the same period, reaching 45.85% of the plan. State budget revenue in the area reached VND 1,123 billion, equal to 54.4% of the plan assigned by the Central Government and 45.65% of the plan assigned by the province, up 41.7% over the same period in 2023. Total outstanding credit balance is estimated to reach VND 30,414 billion as of June 30, 2024, up VND 2,355 billion over the same period (an increase of 8.39%). Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue is estimated to reach over VND 9,437 billion, up 19.65% over the same period.

Tourism activities have improved, the number of visitors to the province increased compared to the same period, reaching 1.69 million, up 19.18% over the same period, reaching 52.81% of the plan; tourism revenue reached over 4,191 billion VND.

Administrative reform and improvement of the investment and business environment have been promoted, and the quality of administrative procedure settlement has been improved. The administrative reform indexes in 2023 all increased, of which the satisfaction index of administrative services (SIPAS) increased by 4 places, reaching 31st place out of 63 provinces and cities; the administrative reform index (PAR Index) increased by 27 places, reaching 23rd place out of 63 provinces and cities; the provincial public administration performance index (PAPI) increased by 34 places, reaching 11th place out of 63 provinces and cities. Culture and society are focused on; national defense and security are maintained; foreign affairs are promoted and effective.

Regarding some key tasks from now until the end of the year, Ha Giang determined to continue to accelerate the progress of disbursement of public investment capital. Raise the responsibility of leaders; pay attention to thoroughly resolving compensation and site clearance for projects, focusing on key projects. Speed ​​up the progress of projects under the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program. All levels, sectors and localities in the province focus on agricultural production according to the seasonal framework; effectively implement the Projects on renovating mixed gardens, sustainably developing Sanh orange trees, and converting corn to plants with higher economic value. Remove difficulties to promote industrial production activities. Strengthen trade promotion activities, tourism and service activities. Promote digital transformation; implement Project 06 of the Government; complete mobile coverage in 13/17 villages with no signal registered in 2024...
