On the morning of November 17, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a ceremony to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day and the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Education Sector (2025-2030).
Attending were President Luong Cuong; Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long.

Teachers are the driving force for educational development.
In his opening speech, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son affirmed that after 80 years of striving to grow and contribute to the country's development, especially in the past 5 years, the education sector has promoted the implementation of resolutions; actively perfected new breakthrough policies to develop the teaching staff to implement the Law on Teachers, along with many other new policies with many efforts and determination to contribute to emulating and following Uncle Ho's teachings.
Over the years, patriotic emulation movements have become practical and regular activities throughout the industry. Among them, there are emulation movements throughout the development process of the industry: "Good teaching - Good learning" emulation; "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning" emulation.

One of the outstanding results in the past 5 years at the general education level is that the education sector has completed the implementation cycle of the new general education program in 2018, in which there is a strong shift from knowledge-providing education to developing learners' capacity.
Over the past 5 years, the typical examples of the education sector are groups and individuals with outstanding achievements, recognized through patriotic emulation movements. Many groups and individuals of the education sector have been honored to receive awards from the President. Among them, the First Class Labor Medal was awarded to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Second Class Independence Medal to 1 individual, the Third Class Independence Medal to 1 individual and many Labor Medals of various classes; the Prime Minister signed a decision to award the Government's Emulation Flag to 37 groups, the National Emulation Fighter to 15 individuals, and the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 48 groups and 269 individuals.
In the 15th awarding round - 2020, the President signed a decision to confer the title of People's Teacher to 18 and Meritorious Teacher to 919; in the 16th awarding round - 2023, the President signed a decision to confer the title of People's Teacher to 21 teachers, Meritorious Teacher to 1,167 teachers, along with many other emulation titles and forms of commendation to teachers.
The Minister of Education and Training emphasized: “To achieve today's achievements, over the past 80 years, the education sector has always received special attention from the Party, the State, the Government, and the entire people and has been oriented as a strategic breakthrough, a top national policy with the important task of developing people, training human resources and nurturing talents to serve the country's development.”

According to the Minister, this year's November 20 anniversary has many special features. Never before has the education and training sector had such a position, been entrusted with a mission and been cared for as it is today. Education and training is identified as a top national policy, deciding the future of the nation. Teachers are considered the driving force for education development, the decisive factor in the quality of education. Many new policies have been issued by the Party and the State to develop the teaching staff. That is a great joy, an encouragement for those who do educational work
At the ceremony, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded emulation certificates to 11 collectives; awarded certificates of merit to 24 collectives and individuals - representing 141 collectives and 174 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning" for the period 2020-2025.
Promoting innovation and creating development in education and training
Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the education sector, especially the contributions of the teaching staff.
The President emphasized that we are proud of the great achievements that Vietnam's education has achieved, but we must also be frank and correctly recognize the difficulties and limitations in order to continue to grow stronger. Innovation and improvement of the quality of education is an urgent requirement, of special importance in the strategic vision of national development, requiring perseverance and determination "For the hundred-year cause of cultivating people".


With the spirit of solidarity, creativity and innovation, President Luong Cuong requested the education sector to continue promoting its advantages, overcoming its limitations, and focusing on implementing a number of key tasks.
The first task is to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines, policies, and viewpoints, Uncle Ho's thoughts on education and training, and most recently Resolution No. 71 of the Politburo; focus on perfecting legal regulations to promptly remove bottlenecks and bottlenecks in institutions, mechanisms, and policies; promote innovation and create development of education and training.
The President also requested that the education sector effectively implement the Law on Teachers and develop appropriate policies to mobilize talented people outside the teaching force to participate in teaching and training in educational institutions. Persistently build a school culture, a culture of quality, practical learning and practical work associated with the responsibility of setting an example for the teaching staff.
Continue to lead, direct, and effectively organize the implementation of Directive No. 41, dated February 26, 2024 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership in emulation and reward work in the new situation; strive to achieve the goal of Vietnam having a modern, equitable and high-quality national education system, ranking among the top 20 countries in the world by 2045.
At the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son launched a patriotic emulation movement in the entire education sector for the 2025-2030 period.
The Minister of Education and Training believes that in the new period, the emulation movement of the education sector will have many improvements, contributing to promoting the improvement of the quality of all levels and grades of education and well performing the political tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
