Vietnam sent ship 015 Tran Hung Dao to participate in the parade in the Philippines to show support for international events, contributing to promoting cooperation with the Philippine Navy as well as ASEAN countries.

After the parade, ship 015 Tran Hung Dao docked at Subic naval base in the Philippines, preparing to participate in activities at the port and at sea within the framework of the 2nd ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise (AMNEX-2).

015 Tran Hung Dao, a Gepard Project 11661E missile frigate, was commissioned into Brigade 162 in February 2018. The ship is equipped with many modern weapons, manufactured by Russia under a contract signed with the Vietnam People's Navy, to build a regular naval force and improve the capacity to protect the country's sea and islands.

Vietnam's Gepard-class frigates apply many stealth technologies, combining angular hulls and radar-absorbing paint to minimize radar reflection areas from enemy reconnaissance systems. The ship is also equipped with modern jamming and electronic warfare systems.

The main weapons of the Gepard 3.9-class missile frigate are eight 3M24E anti-ship missiles with a range of 130 km, an AK-176MA 76.2 mm naval gun, a Palma anti-aircraft gun-missile complex, two AK-630M close-in defense guns and a 14.5 mm machine gun. The 015 Tran Hung Dao is also equipped with four 533 mm torpedo tubes and carries a Ka-28 helicopter to increase the ability to detect and deal with enemy submarines.
