The 28th Asian Television Awards ceremony was held at the Hoa Binh Theater (HCMC) on January 12 and 13.

Vietnam hosts Asian Television Awards for the first time

The Asian Television Awards is an annual award organized by the Asian Television Magazine to honor outstanding television works and faces. The event brings together many producers from countries and territories such as Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, India, etc. and Vietnam. This is the first time the Asian Television Awards ceremony has been held in Vietnam. These are artists from countries and territories such as: Nuca, Alvin Jo (Indonesia), X:IN band (Korea), Zephanie (Philippines), Sou Gaku (Taiwan), Karnsomnut (Thailand)... Along with that are Vietnamese artists Truong Ngoc Anh, Lien Binh Phat, Hoang My An, Hoang Yen Chibi, director Vo Thanh Hoa, Jun Vu, Truong The Vinh, Gil Le, Ngoc Thanh Tam, Doan Minh Tai... The award ceremony has four MCs including Tonypet Gaba (Philippines), Kaila Rivera (Philippines), Louis Hesse (Thailand) and Miss Luong Thuy Linh (Vietnam).

The Korean film Taxi Driver 2 (Anonymous) won the Best TV Drama award. This film, starring Lee Je Hoon, caused a stir among Vietnamese audiences because it had many scenes filmed at famous landmarks in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City (Notre Dame Cathedral, Tan Son Nhat International Airport), Da Nang , Ha Long Bay... The show 2 Days 1 Night was nominated for Best TV Show of 2023. However, neither of them won the award.
