Tay Ninh signs border trade agreement with three provinces of Cambodia

On November 3, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province organized a conference between Tay Ninh and the provinces of Svay Rieng, Prey Veng and Tboung Khmum (Kingdom of Cambodia).

The main content of the conference was to approve draft minutes of agreement and sign an agreement to facilitate the transportation of goods across the border between Tay Ninh and Svayrieng, Prayveng and TboungKhmum provinces.

Attending the event were Major General Le Xuan The, Commander of Military Region 7; Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Quyet and other provincial leaders and departments.

On the Cambodian side, there were Mr. Sbong Sarat, Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party of Prey Veng province and Chairman of the Prey Veng Provincial Council; Mr. Men Vibol, Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party of Svay Rieng province and Chairman of the Svay Rieng Provincial Council; Mr. Pen Kosal, Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party of Tboung Khmum province and Head of the Tboung Khmum Provincial Administration Board, and the delegation attending the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Tay Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet congratulated Cambodia on its impressive economic growth rate, with export turnover increasing by 14.8%, and reviewed the two countries' many successes, contributing to maintaining national defense, security, social order and safety in the border area; strengthening cooperation in developing border trade and economy; maintaining good exchange of experiences in building new rural areas, reducing poverty, protecting the environment; promoting cultural exchanges, and strengthening solidarity between people on both sides of the border.

On this occasion, Tay Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet informed about the successful organization of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030; this is an important historical milestone, the first congress after the Provincial Party Committee, together with the whole country, streamlined the apparatus of the political system and merged the province.

The Congress also set the goal that by 2030, Tay Ninh province will have a dynamic and sustainable economic development; be a strategic connection center between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta, and at the same time be a strategic trade hub with Cambodia through 4 international border gates and 3 main border gates located in 19 border communes, opening up space for border trade development along the approximately 369km long border adjacent to 3 provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia (Svay Rieng, Tboung Khmum, Prey Veng) with Tay Ninh entering a period of breakthrough and sustainable development.

To realize the goal, Tay Ninh is focusing on mobilizing and investing most effectively in key projects such as: Road connecting the Moc Bai-Xuyen A industrial and urban corridor; Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai, Go Dau-Xa Mat Expressway; Tan An-Binh Hiep road connecting with Cambodia; Ring Road 4; My Quy Tay Border Gate; Binh Chanh-Ring Road 4 dynamic axis... In particular, in early December 2025, Tan Nam international border gate will open to connect trade between the two countries.

Tay Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet emphasized: In the coming time, Tay Ninh hopes to continue to receive closer and more effective coordination from neighboring provinces in the aspects of coordinating border economic development associated with ensuring national defense and security; investing in connecting transport infrastructure, logistics, border gates, border gate economic zones; continuing to exchange experiences in digital transformation and administrative reform; especially strengthening people-to-people diplomacy, consolidating the special solidarity and friendship between border provinces.

Tay Ninh believes that with the spirit of solidarity, friendship and close cooperation, it will contribute to further promoting the good traditional relationship and supporting the promotion of economic, trade and investment cooperation to achieve higher growth.

At the conference, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate the transportation of goods across the border with the Administrative Boards of Svayrieng, Prayveng and TboungKhmum provinces.

This is evidence of specific, practical and effective cooperation, creating favorable conditions for businesses and people in activities in border areas, contributing to promoting the border economic development of each province.
