This is a widespread activity in schools to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh through the space of displaying documentary photos on the theme "Uncle Ho with Thai Nguyen" and the contest "Who remembers the most", gathering 100 typical candidates to compete in an attractive, useful, and emotional intellectual playground.
Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Museum, Tran Thi Nhien, said: “The program is a specific and practical activity in a series of traditionaleducation activities, aiming to foster a love of history and infinite gratitude towards President Ho Chi Minh. Through this program, we hope to create an intellectual and useful playground, where students can learn while playing, play while learning; thereby receiving historical knowledge in a gentle, natural and profound way.”
The space for displaying documentary photos on the topic "Uncle Ho with Thai Nguyen " introduces more than 70 valuable documentary images about the period when President Ho Chi Minh and the Party Central Committee and the Government lived and worked at the Thai Nguyen Safe Zone (ATK) during the resistance war against French colonialism; Uncle Ho's 7 visits to Thai Nguyen and the locality's outstanding achievements in studying and following Uncle Ho.
These images are not only historical but also vivid proof of the deep attachment between Uncle Ho and the revolutionary war zone.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Nhien, in the coming time, Thai Nguyen Provincial Museum will continue to accompany schools to organize many historical and cultural education activities with new and more creative methods. Heritage education should not be a separate activity, but should become a natural part of the process of forming students' personality and ethics.
This program is meaningful and widespread because when bringing local history and cultural heritage into schools in a visual, interactive form and combining academics-experiences-competitions, students will have easier access and, more importantly, help students understand more about history, love their homeland and country, and appreciate traditional values.
