Rapid construction of houses for the people during the Quang Trung Campaign.

Dak Lak is entering a peak period of building new houses and repairing existing ones for people severely affected by storms and floods. From the coastal plains to rural and mountainous areas, construction is proceeding urgently and continuously.

In Phu Phong village (Hoa Thinh commune), transporting construction materials to the site faced numerous difficulties due to narrow and muddy roads, many sections of which remained impassable after the floods. To ensure progress, dozens of officers and soldiers from the 198th Special Forces Brigade (Special Forces Command) personally carried iron bars, wooden planks, and other materials across rice paddies to the construction site.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Sy Cuong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Brigade, said that upon receiving the assignment, the unit immediately disseminated the directives from higher authorities, clearly defining this not only as a professional task but also as a political and emotional responsibility towards the people in the disaster-stricken area. Each house must be sturdy, meet technical standards, and focus on the quality of each construction, striving to complete and hand over 18 houses according to the plan.

Alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet presented gifts and encouraged the people and military forces supporting the construction of houses for the people in Hoa Xuan commune.

In Dong Hoa ward, a rapid pace of house construction for residents is underway. Of the 46 houses that completely collapsed, the Eastern Area Investment and Construction Project Management Board, in coordination with the military, is constructing 13 houses and providing labor support for 5 houses for the affected families. The Provincial Police will construct 22 houses and provide labor support for 6 others. Thanks to this coordinated effort, many projects have completed their foundations, erected walls, and are preparing for concrete pouring, ensuring the planned progress.

Local authorities need to stay close to the grassroots, put the people at the center, both accelerate the implementation of the campaign and ensure the stability of people's lives, maintain political security and social order. The results of the Quang Trung Campaign are an important measure to assess the responsibility, capacity and people-oriented spirit of each level and each sector."

Ms. Ha Thi Nhung (born in 1949, residing in Canh Phuoc village, Dong Hoa ward), one of the households receiving a new house, emotionally said: “The soldiers worked day and night. Thanks to them, the house was built faster. This is a motivation for my family to rebuild our lives in a sturdy house, safe from floods.”

According to statistics, the entire province has 633 houses that completely collapsed and received support for reconstruction; approximately 892 severely damaged houses were repaired, and about 5,455 houses with damaged roofs or partial damage received support for restoration. Faced with a large volume of work and a tight deadline, the military, police, and local authorities mobilized maximum human and material resources, determined to accelerate progress and ensure the quality of the projects as directed by the Government .

Along with that, businesses across the country also joined hands to contribute. Hoa Phat Group provided emergency support of 100,000 ^m² of various types of roofing sheets. Many other businesses are ready to support in solving the problem of construction material shortages. Director of the Department of Construction Cao Dinh Huy said: "Mineral mining businesses in the eastern part of the province are supporting sand for house construction projects for the people (through project management boards); brick manufacturers are reducing brick prices by 30% to serve the project. From the North, Vietnam Railways is organizing the free transportation of 1 million bricks to the Central region, contributing to accelerating the implementation of the Quang Trung Campaign."

Construction is being accelerated so that residents can soon have their new, sturdy homes.

Directing the implementation of the Quang Trung Campaign, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: "The Quang Trung Campaign is a particularly important political task, requiring the decisive and coordinated involvement of the entire political system. All levels and sectors must consider this a mandate for action; proactively review and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles; mobilize maximum resources, and organize implementation with speed, efficiency, and safety."
