Can Tho City implements online birth registration at hospitals

Implementing the two-level local government model, Soc Trang ward (Can Tho city) has had practical models to serve the people.

In addition to the Saturday model for the people, the Public Administration Service Center of the ward is implementing an online birth registration model at the hospital. Initially, the model has brought convenience and benefits to the people.

According to Ms. Lam Thi My Nhien, Deputy Director of the Public Administration Service Center of Soc Trang Ward, in recent days, the ward has deployed an online birth registration model right at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. This model helps people to be more convenient in carrying out administrative procedures, reduce travel time and improve the efficiency of serving the people.

With the aim of serving the people, promoting the effectiveness of digital applications, and simplifying administrative procedures, the People's Committee of Soc Trang Ward has directed the Ward Public Administration Service Center to send civil servants to the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to support the implementation of online birth registration. In addition, the Youth Union also participated in supporting the process of guiding people. After implementing this pilot model, the Public Administration Service Center has instructed the hospital's staff and officials.

Implementing this model, every time a baby is born at the hospital, the birth registration procedure for the child can be done right on the online system with the support of the ward's Justice - Civil Status officer . The subjects to implement this are citizens who need to register for the administrative procedure of birth registration, permanent residence registration, and health insurance card issuance for children under 6 years old and children born at Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. However, to complete the procedure, the declarant and the child's parents must have full identification documents including: Citizen ID or ID card, Marriage certificate (if any), the declarant must have level 2 electronic identification.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Nhung (in Soc Trang ward, whose child was born at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital) was advised by the staff of the Public Administration Service Center to help her complete the birth registration procedure; then she went to the center to receive the results. Ms. Nhung said that the ward staff enthusiastically supported her family in completing the birth registration procedure for her child.

The leader of the Soc Trang Ward Public Administration Service Center added that the online birth registration model at the hospital will be implemented until September 26 to facilitate people's access to administrative procedures, aiming to increase the effectiveness of administrative reform and serve the people; at the same time, promote propaganda on the implementation of online administrative procedures, reduce hassles, and save travel time for people.

With this method, the model of online birth registration at the hospital when a baby is born not only creates favorable conditions for people but also demonstrates the spirit of serving the people, improving practical efficiency in carrying out administrative procedures...
