Opening of intensive training course to become an expert on new generation FTAs

On the morning of November 4, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Foreign Trade University and UB Group Joint Stock Company held the Opening Ceremony of the Intensive Training Course to become experts on the EVFTA agreement and new generation FTAs for management agencies, businesses and industry associations in 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics and International Business, Foreign Trade University spoke at the ceremony

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics and International Business, Foreign Trade University emphasized: "This is a training program with the goal of building a team of experts on new generation FTA Agreements for localities and enterprises, thereby helping enterprises to maximize the benefits from implementing commitments in new generation FTA Agreements in the context of increasingly deep and wide economic integration."

This is the first class in a series of intensive training courses to become experts on the EVFTA and new generation FTAs for management agencies, businesses and industry associations. Participants in the class are officers and specialists in charge of international economic integration, activities related to the implementation of free trade agreements (FTAs) at management agencies, FTA implementation consulting companies, research institutes, training facilities; officers and employees performing import and export operations at businesses, industry associations...

During the training program, students will be informed and guided by experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and domestic experts about in-depth knowledge of FTAs that Vietnam has signed, implemented or is negotiating and related contents.

The training program includes 05 topics. Specifically:

Topic 1: Effectively utilizing tariff and non-tariff incentives in EVFTA and new generation FTAs, lessons learned for Vietnamese enterprises;

Topic 2: Trade promotion to take advantage of new generation FTAs;

Topic 3: Rules of origin in the EVFTA and new generation FTAs - Issues that businesses need to pay attention to;

Topic 4: Commitments - Implementation and practices on trade defense in EVFTA and new generation FTAs, lessons learned for Vietnamese enterprises;

Topic 5: Customs procedures and issues that businesses need to pay attention to when participating in the EVFTA market and new generation FTAs

The topics are designed to integrate specialized knowledge and practical skills, creating conditions for students to interact, discuss and review content related to the implementation and utilization of FTAs.

After the intensive training course to become an expert on the EVFTA agreement and new generation FTAs, students who are qualified to complete the course exam will be granted a Certificate from Foreign Trade University.

According to the plan in 2025, the Department of Multi-level Trade Policy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to organize similar training courses in Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City. Specifically:

Intensive training course to become an expert on EVFTA and new generation FTAs: December 8 - 12, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Intensive training course to become an expert on the UKVFTA agreement and new generation FTAs: December 15 - 19, 2025 in Da Nang.
