Nam Dinh City held the inauguration ceremony of Thien Truong Bridge

The project "Construction of a bridge across the Dao River connecting Song Hao Street to Vu Huu Loi Street, Nam Dinh City" was approved by the Provincial People's Council in Resolution No. 45/NQ-HDND dated October 15, 2021 and approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 619/QD-UBND dated March 28, 2022. The project has a total investment of VND 1,200 billion, including the construction of a bridge across the Dao River and an approach road with a total length of about 1.6km; starting point: from the intersection of Tran Bich San Street and Song Hao Street, Nang Tinh Ward, Nam Dinh City, the end point intersects with Vu Huu Loi Street - connecting with the Southern axis road project of Nam Dinh City from Vu Huu Loi Street to National Highway 21B in Nam Van Ward, Nam Dinh City. The bridge over the river is about 0.8km long with a cross-section of 20.5m; The bridge consists of 16 spans, including 13 approach spans and 3 continuous girder spans. The main bridge section consists of two reinforced concrete towers 31.5m high from the bridge deck, each side is arranged with 9 cable-stayed cables. The approach bridge section uses a prestressed reinforced concrete girder span structure.

The approach road at both ends of the bridge is about 0.8km long with a cross-section in accordance with the planning (The intersection between Song Hao Street and Tran Bich San Street to Tien Phong Street is 26m to 28m wide, each side has a sidewalk from 3 to 5m wide, the road surface is 18m wide; The intersection between Song Hao Street and Tien Phong Street to Tran Nhan Tong Street is 38.5m wide, including each side with a 3m wide sidewalk, the road surface on both sides of the bridge is 6m wide, the bridge is 20.5m wide; The section from Au Co Street to Vu Huu Loi Street is a two-lane road with a width of 34m, each side has a 5m wide sidewalk, each side has a 10.5m wide road surface and a 3m wide median strip; The section from Vu Huu Loi Street to the end of the route, connecting to the Nam Dinh City Southern Axis Road project, is designed as a two-lane road with a width of 46m, each side has a 10m wide sidewalk, each side has a wide road surface 10.5m and median strip 5m wide).

Based on the cultural and historical traditions of Nam Dinh city, on April 27, 2025, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 24/NQ-HDND naming the bridge Thien Truong Bridge. The putting into operation of Thien Truong Bridge has an important significance for the city, contributing to the completion of the transport network system, increasing the connectivity between the city and the southern districts, better meeting the needs of freight transport and travel of the people. The project is also a highlight of the landscape, a new symbol of Nam Dinh urban area, creating a driving force for socio -economic development, tourism development, contributing to attracting investment and developing the city.
