This year’s summer camp with the theme “Journey to the Southern Land” will bring interesting experiences about the Southeast region, helping the young generation of Vietnamese teenagers abroad connect with their roots, learn about the process of fighting for national liberation, liberating the South, and unifying the country; at the same time, understand the historical significance of the Great Spring Victory in 1975.

Participating in this year's summer camp, there are 18 overseas Vietnamese youth campers from 5 countries and territories including: Canada, India, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Laos and Ho Chi Minh City youth.
The summer camp takes place from April 26 to May 1, 2025 in 5 provinces in the Southeast region: Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Tay Ninh.
During the summer camp program, overseas Vietnamese youth participated in many meaningful activities such as: Seminar "Overseas Vietnamese youth turn to the Fatherland - Proud of 50 years of united country"; Carrying out activities demonstrating the traditional morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude" such as: Incense offering ceremony, commemorating heroic martyrs at Rung Sac Cemetery, Can Gio; visiting Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Hay and the family of war invalids in Can Gio district.
Visit and learn about historical and cultural sites in 5 provinces in the Southeast region such as Cu Chi Tunnels (Ho Chi Minh City), Tran Bien Temple of Literature (Dong Nai), Phu Loi Prison ( Binh Duong Province), Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh Province)... Cultural and artistic exchanges, collective games to demonstrate solidarity, cultivate knowledge of traditional culture and practice Vietnamese.
In particular, during this year's summer camp, the children were able to join in the joyful atmosphere of the people of Ho Chi Minh City and the people of the whole country when they directly participated in activities and events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30.

The Summer Camp “Overseas Vietnamese Youth and City Youth” is organized annually by the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union. This year is the 18th time. The Summer Camp is organized with the purpose of creating a healthy and useful playground, sharing and spreading to overseas Vietnamese youth and city youth about the achievements, innovations and development of Ho Chi Minh City and the country; creating conditions for them to experience and visit many scenic spots, historical sites, traditional craft villages, contributing to improving understanding and fostering love for the homeland and country for today's young generation. Over the past 18 years, the Organizing Committee has welcomed nearly 1,000 young Vietnamese people living abroad to return to the roots of the Vietnamese nation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the summer camp, Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai, Chairwoman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Summer Camp, said that the Organizing Committee hopes that this year's event will not only be an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese youth from all over the world to meet, exchange and learn from each other, but also a journey to show gratitude and commemorate the great sacrifices and contributions of the previous generations in the struggle for national liberation and construction; in particular, the children will join in the joyful atmosphere to welcome the national reunification day, the pride in the territorial integrity of the entire nation.
