Strengthening cooperation between Ninh Binh province and Asan city (Korea)

Over the years, the friendly cooperation relationship between Ninh Binh province and Asan city (Chungcheongnam province, Korea) has been constantly developing, bringing many practical results. Based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2016, the two localities have expanded cooperation in many fields, from economy, agriculture, labor to culture, education and people-to-people exchange.

In the period of 2016 - 2019, the two sides organized many delegations to visit and work to enhance understanding, seek cooperation opportunities, and deepen the relationship; from 2017 - 2019 and 2023, Ninh Binh sent delegations of agricultural officials and typical farmers to Asan to learn about management experience and application of high-tech agriculture to improve production capacity according to VietGAP, OCOP standards...; in 2018, the Asan City Traditional Art Troupe performed at the 1050th Anniversary of Dai Co Viet State; in 2019, the Ninh Binh Cheo Theater Art Troupe attended the Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival in Asan; in 2023, the Ninh Binh Art Troupe participated in the 1st Ethnic Dance Festival in Asan; In 2018, 2019, and 2025, Ninh Binh sent a delegation of outstanding youth to exchange with Asan youth and Asan's sister cities.

Recently, the Asan City Government Delegation led by the Mayor visited and worked in Ninh Binh (October 2023). The two sides agreed to continue cooperation in many fields, especially sending seasonal workers from Ninh Binh to Asan to work in the agricultural sector. In May 2024, the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee Delegation led by the Provincial Party Secretary visited and worked in Asan. The two sides signed a Cooperation Agreement on sending and receiving seasonal workers in the agricultural sector.

Leaders of the Office of the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province received and worked with the delegation of street and village chiefs of Asan city.

Within the framework of cooperation between Ninh Binh province and Asan city, on the morning of September 3, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang, Deputy Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office, had a meeting and worked with the delegation of street and village chiefs of Asan city led by Mr. Choi Ki-ho, Director of the Administrative Department of Asan city. The two sides discussed the results achieved in the cooperative relationship and future directions.

It can be affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Ninh Binh province and Asan city has become a typical model of local cooperation, comprehensively developed, multi-field, both long-term strategic and bringing specific, practical benefits to the people of both sides. This is the solid foundation for the friendly relationship between Ninh Binh province and Asan city to continue to expand, go into depth and become a model of local-level international cooperation in the new period.
