The 2025 Asian Youth Games are entering their final days of competition, but Vietnamese athletes completed their journey on the evening of October 30, bringing home a total of 19 medals, an encouraging result, demonstrating the efforts and persistent competitive spirit of the young force.

On the final day of competition, the Vietnamese delegation continued to make their mark in three events: beach wrestling, jujitsu and judo, bringing home 1 more silver medal and 4 bronze medals.

In beach wrestling, Bui Ngoc Thao Thom performed brilliantly in the women's 55kg category. She beat opponents from the Philippines and Bahrain to reach the semi-finals, then defeated Duangchit Kanokkon (Thailand) with a score of 2-0.

In the final, Thao Thom had the upper hand at times but lost to Anjali Anjali (India) 1-2, thereby winning the silver medal. Teammate Lam Minh Gia Huy also added a bronze medal in the men's 60kg category, while Pham Huynh Minh Hieu (men's 90kg) stopped short of the medal threshold.

The jujitsu event continued to bring good news when two martial artists Hoang Manh Luong (48kg men) and Nong Bao Ngoc (48kg women) both won bronze medals after impressive performances. In judo, Pham Minh Tuyet (57kg women) brought home the decisive bronze medal in the third-place match against opponent Demuul Suvd-Erdene (Mongolia).

On October 30 alone, the Vietnamese delegation collected a total of 1 silver and 4 bronze medals, closing the congress with 1 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze medals. Vietnam's only gold medal was in weightlifting, marking the breakthrough of the young force in a sport that has traditionally been a strength.

At the end of the 2025 Asian Youth Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation temporarily ranked 21st overall. Although not in the leading group, this achievement is still considered a success, as many athletes, who are playing on the continent for the first time, have shown clear progress.
