Wrestling, Jujitsu Vietnam wins medals at 2025 Asian Youth Games

VHO - Information from the Vietnam Sports Administration said that the Vietnamese beach wrestling and Jujitsu team has just won medals at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG 2025), taking place in Bahrain.

Accordingly, beach wrestling athletes competed excellently, winning 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal on the penultimate competition day (October 30) of AYG 2025.

In the women's 55kg category, Bui Ngoc Thao Thom entered the final after winning 3 consecutive matches against opponents from the Philippines, Bahrain and Thailand.

Despite her best efforts, Thao Thom lost 1-2 to her Indian opponent, winning the silver medal.

VHO - After many days of waiting, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation also won the first gold medal at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG 2025) taking place in Bahrai thanks to the efforts of weightlifter Nguyen Thanh Duy.

Besides, in the men's 60kg weight class, the Vietnamese wrestling team also won 1 bronze medal from young wrestler Lam Minh Gia Huy.

Meanwhile, Jujitsu athletes also brought home 2 bronze medals on this competition day.

15-year-old athlete Nong Bao Ngoc won the bronze medal in the women's 48kg category after defeating Najla Hashem of the UAE 2-0 in the third-place match.

In the men's 48kg category, boxer Hoang Manh Luong also had an impressive performance when he defeated athlete Sebastian Blaize of the Philippines to win the bronze medal.

Thus, with 2 bronze medals in Jujitsu and 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal in beach wrestling, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation has 1 gold medal, 7 silver medals and 11 bronze medals, temporarily ranked 21st/36 delegations before the final competition day (October 31).
