4 more districts reach new rural area status, Phuoc Long meets advanced new rural area standards

(PLVN) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed the Prime Minister's decisions recognizing 4 districts that have completed new rural construction in 2024, including: Tien Phuoc (Quang Nam), Tan Thanh and Vinh Hung (Long An), Phuoc Long (Bac Lieu), in which Phuoc Long is the only district that has met the advanced new rural standards.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed the Prime Minister's Decisions recognizing 4 districts as reaching the new rural finish line.

Specifically, in Decision No. 1004/QD-TTg dated May 26, 2025, the Prime Minister recognized Phuoc Long district ( Bac Lieu province) to meet advanced new rural standards in 2024.

In Decision No. 1005/QD-TTg, 1006/QD-TTg and 1007/QD-TTg dated May 26, 2025, the Prime Minister recognized Tien Phuoc district (Quang Nam province); Tan Thanh district ( Long An province) and Vinh Hung district (Long An province) to meet new rural standards in 2024.

The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committees of Bac Lieu, Quang Nam and Long An provinces to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directed the People's Committees of Phuoc Long, Tien Phuoc, Tan Thanh and Vinh Hung districts to continue maintaining and improving the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in new rural construction.

It is known that since 2017, Phuoc Long is the first district of Bac Lieu province to be recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards. Up to now, the district has 100% of its communes meeting advanced new rural standards, of which 5/7 communes have met model new rural standards. In addition, 2 communes have been recognized as meeting type V urban standards and Phuoc Long town has been recognized as meeting urban civilization standards.

Phuoc Long district has developed many effective production models such as: rice-shrimp model, model of bringing color to the fields, model of raising le le, raising snakes... These models are all aimed at clean, organic agriculture, applying VietGAP, ASC, IRRI standards to meet export requirements. In 2024, the average income per capita in all 7 communes of the district will reach over 102 million VND/person/year, an increase of more than 58 million VND compared to 2017. After 7 years of striving, the district has completed all 9 criteria with 38 component indicators according to the National Criteria Set for districts meeting advanced new rural standards.

In Tien Phuoc district (Quang Nam province), up to now, 14/14 communes have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting new rural standards, reaching a rate of 100%. Of which, two communes, Tien Canh and Tien Phong, have been recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards; Tien Ky town has been recognized as meeting civilized urban standards. The district has 24/63 villages meeting model new rural standards. The average income per capita in the district reached 58.6 million VND/year, the multidimensional poverty rate in 14 communes has decreased to 2.25%.

For Tan Thanh district (Long An province), all 12/12 communes have met the new rural standards, of which 4 communes have met the advanced new rural standards. Tan Thanh town has been recognized as meeting the civilized urban standards. The rate of people's satisfaction with the results of new rural construction in the area is over 99.75%. People using electricity regularly and safely is 99.93%; the rate of households classifying solid waste at source is 79.24%; the rate of people using clean water according to standards is 87.14%. Up to now, the district has no outstanding debt for basic construction in new rural construction.

Vinh Hung district (Long An province) currently has 9/9 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 1 commune meets advanced new rural standards; Vinh Hung town meets civilized urban standards. The rate of people's satisfaction with the results of new rural construction is over 99.85%. The rate of households with solid and semi-solid houses is 100%; the rate of households using clean water meeting standards is 90.92%. In 2024, the average income per capita of the whole district will reach 62.05 million VND/year, the poverty rate will be 1.68%...
