Accordingly, KAS is a German political foundation, operating in Vietnam since 1993. With this signing, the two sides will cooperate in 5 areas: research and strategic and policy consulting; training and capacity development; knowledge transfer and academic dialogue in the fields of socio-economic development, institutions; digital transformation and building a modern governance system. On that basis, it aims to create internship and job opportunities for students, helping them apply knowledge into practice; organize seminars and talks to improve skills for learners, teachers and employees of enterprises.
According to the plan, in order to create a premise for long-term strategic cooperation, the two sides agreed to carry out pilot cooperation activities to establish a coordination mechanism and test a coordination model. One of the activities expected to be implemented in September this year is related to discussing policies for an institutional model of coordination and integrated development in the expanded Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Do Viet Ha, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, said that with many years of operation in Vietnam, KAS has implemented many cooperation programs with Vietnamese university training institutions. By cooperating with this first training unit in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Ha hopes to bring practical results to serve the development of Ho Chi Minh City in the coming years, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation with a vision to 2045 and Resolution 59 on international integration in the new situation.
Also sharing at the signing ceremony, Mr. Christopher Scholl, Deputy Consul General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his wish that German organizations would be connected and supported not only by the Government but also by partners, especially experts at major universities. This event is even more meaningful as it contributes to the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
