DNVN – At the 47th World Skills Competition that just ended in Lyon (France), two candidates trained and supported by Samsung, Ho Chi Nguyen - Vinh Long University of Technical Education and Nguyen Khoa Hai Minh - Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, won the Certificate of Vocational Excellence.

Following the success of the World Skills Competition in previous years, at the 47th World Skills Competition that just ended in Lyon (France), two candidates trained and supported by Samsung, including Ho Chi Nguyen - Vinh Long University of Technical Education (IT network system administration) and Nguyen Khoa Hai Minh - Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (CAD mechanical engineering design) won the Certificate of Excellence, contributing to the overall achievement of the Vietnamese delegation. In particular, Ho Chi Nguyen also won the national first prize (Best of Nation) of the Vietnamese delegation. This achievement is a recognition of Samsung Vietnam's efforts to nurture technology talents.

Accordingly, to contribute to the success of the two contestants as well as Vietnam in this international arena, Samsung Vietnam has sponsored all training, living, coaching, and translation costs for 10 months and during the exam in Lyon (France) for the two Vietnamese contestants.

Ho Chi Nguyen and Nguyen Khoa Hai Minh are two candidates selected by Samsung Vietnam at the Selection Exam organized by Samsung from July 2023, then sent to train at the Samsung Skills Training Center for 10 months, from October 2023 to August 2024. During their studies in Korea, Ho Chi Nguyen and Nguyen Khoa Hai Minh were systematically trained in each stage with coaches who had won medals at world skills competitions.

The two Vietnamese candidates were not only trained in professional knowledge, general skills such as planning - doing exercises - analyzing problems - final testing, but also trained in other diverse skills that are very necessary in the actual exam such as SWOT analysis, how to organize and operate the match, information strategy, code of conduct, control of reason, strategies to deal with situations in the competition environment... During the learning process, Nguyen and Minh, along with the candidates, were also trained through mock exams organized similar to the actual exam with the participation of many countries.

Sharing about his learning process at the Samsung Skills Training Center, contestant Ho Chi Nguyen said: “The training process in Korea by Samsung helped me accelerate my learning progress and access technologies that are not only used in the exam but also used in practice. In particular, the experience sharing of experts who were contestants in previous contests helped me stay on track and save time.”

This year’s WorldSkills Competition had nearly 1,400 contestants from nearly 60 countries and territories, participating in 59 occupations (excluding 3 performing occupations) in 6 different occupational groups. The achievements of the two Vietnamese contestants at this year’s competition are considered a very encouraging effort not only by the contestants, but also by the supporting businesses, including Samsung Vietnam.

This is not the first time Samsung Vietnam has sponsored Vietnamese contestants in the WorldSkills Competition. With the support of Samsung, Vietnam has achieved proud achievements in the international vocational skills arena. In 2015, at the WorldSkills Competition held in Brazil, contestant Nguyen Duy Thanh, in the IT Software Solutions category, won a bronze medal. This is also the first time the Vietnamese delegation has won a medal after 5 times participating. At the 44th WorldSkills Competition held in 2017 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, contestant Tran Nguyen Ba Phuoc was the only contestant of the Vietnamese delegation to win a bronze medal in the IT Software Solutions category.

After 10 years of accompanying, Samsung has contributed to bringing 2 bronze medals and 6 excellent vocational certificates to the Vietnamese delegation.

Sharing about the contributions in training candidates for the World Skills Competition, Samsung Vietnam General Director Choi Joo Ho expressed that this will be the foundation for them to become technology talents contributing to the development of Vietnam in the future. Samsung will continue to strive to become "the enterprise that makes the most effort to train technology talents in Vietnam", contribute to the training of future technology talents and become "the enterprise that always accompanies Vietnam".
