At the WorldSkills Competition taking place in Lyon (France) from September 10 to September 15, one of the sideline activities for candidates from different countries is a cultural exchange with a local school through the "One school, one country" (OSOC) project.
And the Vietnamese delegation had the opportunity to exchange with Boris Vian Secondary School (Saint-Priest district, Lyon).
Here, in addition to welcoming the Vietnamese contestants, Ms. Belaich, the school principal, shared: "Knowing that Typhoon Yagi and the subsequent flash floods are causing immeasurable damage both physically and mentally, the Board of Directors and all students of Boris Van Secondary School would like to send our condolences and sympathies to the Vietnamese people and especially the students in the affected areas. We wish the students peace and health to overcome the difficulties."

On behalf of the contestants, Mr. Nguyen Chi Truong, Director of the Department of Vocational Skills, Deputy Head of the Vietnamese delegation at the World Vocational Competition, expressed his thanks for the warm welcome, sincere feelings and especially the visit and encouragement from Boris Vian School to the people in general and Vietnamese students in particular.
At the exchange, French students were very excited to have the opportunity to learn about a country about 10,000km away.
Not only were there questions like "How long has the Vietnamese delegation been in France?", "Which hotel did you stay at in France?", but questions about Vietnam were also asked by the students such as "Which city in Vietnam are you from?", "What are the specialties of your city?", "Which song is currently popular with Vietnamese students"...

In addition, the content about the professions of the Vietnamese delegation at the World Skills Competition 2024 is also of interest to students, such as vocational training in Vietnam, what is special about the profession, the reasons for choosing the profession of the candidates, the training process to be able to compete internationally...
In response to the students' questions, the representative of the Vietnamese delegation took the time to introduce the locations, customs, country, and people of Vietnam in general and the professions that the delegation competed in at WSC 2024 as well as the training process in particular.

After the "questioning" part, where many hands were still raised wanting to ask more questions, the school's teachers and Vietnamese contestants had the opportunity to introduce the familiar shuttlecock game.
The movements were still awkward, but that did not reduce the excitement of the children. In particular, after more than an hour of practice, the "little players" did not hesitate to compete with the Vietnamese contestants.
The exchange ended with the excitement of connecting and learning information between the students and the contestants in the delegation as well as the desire to one day come to Vietnam to feel the beauty and affection of the people here.
At the WorldSkills Competition taking place from September 10-15 in Lyon (France), overcoming the problem of time zone difference and differences in testing equipment in some skills, Vietnamese candidates and nearly 70 other countries have now entered the second day of the competition.
Instead of a "closed" environment, the Organizing Committee decided to open the doors to welcome students and people to visit and observe candidates taking the exam.
This requires candidates to be really focused and able to withstand pressure for 18-22 hours (depending on the subject) over 4 consecutive days.
