On September 21st, the final round of the Digital Dragons - The Cyber Security Challenge 2024 (DDC 2024) competition took place at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU).
The competition is organized by VKU in collaboration with Evvo Labs, under the professional sponsorship of the Information Security Department ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) and FISU Vietnam.
This is a competition for university students nationwide who are passionate about IT and information security.

Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU, shared that the competition is not only an opportunity to showcase students' talents and creativity but also an important step in raising awareness and knowledge about information security in the community.
According to Dr. Son, in the increasingly developing digital age, information and data have become valuable assets, requiring us to understand and master knowledge of information security. However, technological advancements also bring about risks and increasingly complex cybersecurity threats.
“The competition is an opportunity for students to showcase their abilities and learn more about the field of information security. We believe that the competition will become a healthy and creative competitive environment, helping them hone their skills, expand their knowledge, and discover groundbreaking solutions in information security protection,” emphasized Dr. Tran The Son.

The competition attracted 100 teams with over 400 contestants from more than 25 universities and academies nationwide, including: Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, University of Da Nang; University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Cryptography Technical Academy; Posts and Telecommunications Institute; FPT University; University of Technology, Vietnam National University Hanoi; University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City…
After several rounds of competition, the organizers selected 23 teams to advance to the semi-finals, from which the 10 best teams will compete in the final round.

In the final round, 10 teams competed directly against various challenges involving web application and network penetration, cryptography, reverse engineering algorithms, XXE (XML External Entity) vulnerabilities, binary exploitation, advanced cryptography, and real-world scenarios.
After four hours of intense, dramatic, and exciting competition, the organizers awarded 1st prize to the BlueCyber_1nt3rn team (University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); 2nd prize to the EA team (University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City); 3rd prize to the CactusJ team (University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City); and 2 consolation prizes to the EA team (University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) and UET_Ch1lL team (University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi), with a total prize value of over 100 million VND…
