The 2025 high school graduation exam will be held in all provinces and cities nationwide from June 26-27. The Ministry of Education and Training expects more than 1.1 million candidates to register for the exam.
This is also a special exam when it is organized with 2 exam questions for 2 groups of candidates: Candidates studying the 2018 generaleducation program and candidates studying the 2006 general education program.
Place of registration: Candidates who have completed the General Education Program/Continuing General Education (GDTX) in the 2024 - 2025 school year register at the high school where they studied grade 12.
Candidates studying under the Continuing Education Program are only allowed to register for the exam at vocational education and continuing education centers. Candidates studying under the General Education Program are only allowed to register for the exam at high schools.
Candidates who have a high school diploma or a secondary school diploma and take the exam to use the results as a basis for admission registration will register at the Department of Education and Training of the district, town or city where the candidate resides.
Candidates taking the exam with the 2006 General Education Program must take 4 exams, including 3 independent exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 combined exam of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences chosen by the candidate; Candidates studying the Continuing Education Program must only take 3 exams, including 2 independent exams: Math, Literature and 1 combined exam of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences chosen by the candidate.
Candidates who are grade 12 students fill in their online exam registration information using the account provided on the exam management software system. Candidates freely fill in the necessary information on the exam registration form envelope and submit it to the receiving unit according to the instructions.
According to Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who are grade 12 students studying the 2018 General Education Program this year need to pay special attention when registering for elective exams.
In addition to the two compulsory subjects of Math and Literature, students must choose a maximum of 2 subjects from the subjects they have chosen and have the results of their studies in grade 12 and choose the correct subject according to their wishes for the high school graduation exam and university and college admission.
In fact, the choice of elective subjects not only affects the results of the graduation exam, but also has a great impact on university and college admissions. Each university may require different combinations of subjects for admission to specific majors. Therefore, candidates need to carefully consider the information from the universities they want to apply to in order to choose the appropriate subjects.
Candidates in Hanoi must provide personal information and register for all exam subjects.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training instructs all candidates, including those exempted from the exam, to provide full personal information and register for the exam, subjects, and prepare for the 2025 high school graduation exam.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will be held simultaneously in provinces and cities nationwide from June 26 to 27. Accordingly, at 2:00 p.m. on June 25, candidates will be present at the exam site to complete exam procedures, correct any errors, and listen to the exam regulations and schedule once again before starting the exam. On the morning of June 26, candidates will take the Literature exam, with a duration of 120 minutes; in the afternoon of the same day, they will take the Math exam, with a duration of 90 minutes.
On June 27, candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will take the Natural Science exam (Chemistry, Biology, Physics), each subject will last 50 minutes; In the afternoon of the same day, candidates will take the Social Science exam (History, Geography, Civic Education), each subject will last 50 minutes. Candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program will take 2 elective subjects on the morning of June 27, each subject will last 50 minutes.
All candidates (including those exempted from the exam) must provide their personal information and register for the exams/subjects. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, students can register for the 2025 graduation exam from April 21 to 28 online.
