Practical Program "Accompanying women in the border areas" in Dak Nong

On the morning of June 18, the Provincial Women's Union coordinated with the Dak Nong Provincial Border Guard Command to organize a conference to summarize the program "Accompanying women in the border areas" for the period 2021-2025.

Comrade Ha Thi Hanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, branches, units, localities and a large number of cadres and women's union members in the area attended.

Over the past 5 years of implementing the program, the province has organized 3 communication sessions, 1 propaganda session on protecting territorial sovereignty and border security for 1,100 members and women; more than 225 propaganda sessions to raise awareness of protecting sovereignty in border communes for more than 13,000 women members.

The program "Accompanying women in the border areas" of Dak Nong province for the period 2021-2025 contributes to improving the lives of members and women in border areas, joining hands and contributing to building a strong border area.

The Provincial Women's Union coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard Command and other units to organize 3 programs "Spring Border Guard - Warming the hearts of the villagers" with more than 13,982 gifts, scholarships, livelihoods... for members, women, students, and disadvantaged people with a total value of more than 6 billion VND.

Through movements and campaigns, the whole province has helped 1,646 more households achieve 8 criteria of 5 no, 3 clean; connected to build new and repair 80 charity houses worth 4.4 billion VND; given 9,576 scholarships and gifts to poor children overcoming difficulties worth over 3.3 billion VND; supported 51 livelihoods worth 503 million VND; helped 1,324 households with women escape poverty and near-poverty.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union and the Dak Nong Provincial Border Guard Command presented livelihood support to female members in the border area with difficult circumstances.

The Associations at all levels have deployed the construction of hundreds of flower roads, bright - green - clean - beautiful roads, free of waste; organized 2,618 environmental cleaning sessions on village roads and alleys, guided households in waste classification and treatment; carried out 190 projects and tasks to participate in new rural construction.

Implementing the "Godmother" program, from 2021 to present, 335 orphans have been sponsored and connected to receive sponsorship by members and organizations at all levels with a total amount of over 8.2 billion VND; built 5 "Happy Homes" for orphans with a total value of 460 million VND...

At the conference, delegates presented many papers sharing creative and effective ways of implementing the program, clearly stating the advantages and difficulties, and at the same time proposing solutions to maintain effectiveness and widely spread the model in difficult and border areas.

Speaking at the program, Comrade Ha Thi Hanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the close and responsible coordination between the Provincial Women's Union and the Provincial Border Guard Command in effectively implementing the Program "Accompanying women in the border areas", period 2021-2025.

Comrade Ha Thi Hanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, units, cadres, members and women need to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and build the homeland to be increasingly developed and prosperous.

Comrade Ha Thi Hanh suggested that the Provincial Women's Union and the Provincial Border Guard Command continue to maintain and coordinate the effective implementation of the program, mobilizing resources to join hands to help women in border areas improve their material and spiritual lives, and build their homeland to develop more and more.

On this occasion, the Emulation Cluster of the Women's Union of the Central Coast and Central Highlands provinces, the Provincial Women's Union, and the Border Guard Command of Dak Nong province awarded 7 livelihood models, worth 10 million VND/model, to women members in the border areas with difficult circumstances.
