Ta Dung commune of Lam Dong province was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of two communes, Dak Som and Dak R'Mang, belonging to Dak Glong district, former Dak Nong province.
This is a commune with a large number of migrants from the north. Due to the lack of schools and teachers, the commune currently has 1,274 children aged 3 to 4. However, in the new school year 2025-2026, public preschools have only enrolled 552 children, while the remaining 687 children (accounting for 53% of the total number of preschool children) are likely to not be able to go to school due to the lack of schools, classrooms and teachers.

Responding to Thanh Nien reporters about the reason why preschool children in Ta Dung have not been able to go to school, the leader of Lam Dong Department of Education and Training said that the main reason is because the satellite school was merged, parents had to take their children to the main school 3 km away, so many families "gave up".
In addition, most parents work in the fields far from home, so young children have to follow their parents without anyone to pick them up and drop them off. Some households are not yet fully aware of the importance of preschool education . The situation of spontaneous migration also causes many children to follow their parents to study in other communes.
According to the leader of Lam Dong Department of Education and Training, another important reason that hundreds of children are at risk of not being able to go to school is the high demand for learning and the lack of facilities.
The new school year is coming, but schools are still facing many difficulties.

Accordingly, in Ta Dung, many classrooms are currently in disrepair, and the remote locations have to close because they are not safe. Preschools have proposed to build more classes in villages 3, 4, and NamSoNy; preschools are also proposing to paint and repair classrooms in village 7 and add new teaching equipment to meet the learning needs of preschool children.
Responding to Thanh Nien reporters by phone, Chairman of Ta Dung Commune People's Committee Tran Nam Thuan (former Chairman of Dak Glong District People's Committee, former Dak Nong Province), said that Ta Dung Commune not only lacks preschool teachers, but also lacks teachers at all three levels of education.
Mr. Thuan added that there are many reasons, but mainly due to the mechanical population growth, causing more children of preschool age; while the locality has not yet trained teachers in time, there is a lack of classrooms for the children. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ta Dung commune said that he has sent a document reporting this situation to the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong, recommending investment in schools and classrooms and early addition of teachers at all three levels, not just preschool teachers.
Only 552/1,274 children aged 3 to 4 in Ta Dung will go to school for the new school year.

Ta Dung commune is a particularly difficult area, where more than 70% of the population are ethnic minorities, mainly M'nong, Ma and H'Mong people who migrated from the North. The population is large, life is still difficult. The problem of lack of teachers and classrooms for preschool children and all levels of education in Ta Dung needs more attention from the leaders of the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Lam Dong province.
