Thieu Hoa develops transport infrastructure

The completion of Le Van Huu Avenue opens up a new space for the socio -economic development of Thieu Hoa commune.

Up to now, 100% of the commune and village roads have been concreted and asphalted, ensuring convenient traffic for people. The synchronous development of traffic infrastructure has opened up new space for the commune's socio-economic development. In particular, many large-scale traffic works with regional connectivity have been invested in, completed and put into use, such as: The route connecting National Highway 1 with National Highway 45 passing through Thieu Long commune (old) was newly invested and built according to the standards of a level III plain road, with a scale of 2 lanes; Le Van Huu Avenue is a level II plain road with 8 lanes, acting as the main traffic axis connecting the commune center with neighboring areas; the converted National Highway 45 has been invested synchronously, helping to shorten the travel time from Thieu Hoa to the center of Thanh Hoa province and the western region of the province.

Along with that, provincial roads 506B and 516C were expanded from level V to level IV, improving transport capacity and ensuring traffic safety; National Highway 45 was regularly upgraded and repaired, creating favorable conditions for the transportation of goods. In addition to the main roads, the commune also focused on investing and renovating the intra-field and inter-regional traffic systems to serve production and daily life. The completion of traffic infrastructure has helped expand development space, connecting residential, commercial and service areas, creating the premise for Thieu Hoa commune to soon become a civilized and modern urban area.

However, after the merger, Thieu Hoa commune still faces many difficulties in developing the transport system. The general planning of the commune is in the process of construction, so the synchronization between the transport planning and the urban planning, land, and technical infrastructure is still facing difficulties. The capital investment for transport mainly relies on the State budget and land exploitation, while the commune's budget revenue is still low, the ability to mobilize socialized capital is limited, especially for large-scale technical infrastructure projects. Compensation, site clearance, and resettlement support also face many difficulties. Although the rate of roads in the commune has been hardened, many roads are small, narrow, do not meet urban standards, and lack a synchronous drainage system. After the merger, the new government apparatus has been strengthened, the workload is large, while the team of specialized staff in urban management and planning is limited, affecting the effectiveness of project implementation.

According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune Nguyen Manh Hung: "The locality is making efforts to inherit and promote the contents of the old Thieu Hoa district regional planning, and at the same time build a general planning of the commune in the direction of developing a type IV urban area, with the main functions of industry, commercial services and urban infrastructure, with a vision to 2050. In which, the focus is on developing a synchronous and modern traffic system, as a foundation for urban space development. Accordingly, the commune is oriented to invest in 6 main traffic axes in the North - South and East - West directions, including: the route of National Highway 45 in the direction of Thanh Hoa - Ngoc Lac; the route connecting National Highway 45 with National Highway 47; the North Ma River route; the Phuc - Nguyen route; the Hoang Xuan - Thieu Long - Ngoc Lac route (from the expressway intersection to Ngoc Lac)... These traffic axes not only play the role of the backbone of urban development, but also create regional connectivity, expand trade, and attract investment and development of industry, trade and services. Along with that, the commune continues to review and invest in upgrading inner-city and residential roads, ensuring safety and smoothness; focusing on building lighting, drainage and green trees systems along the roads, gradually completing urban criteria. In addition, the locality also promotes administrative procedure reform, creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest in infrastructure and transportation; at the same time, strengthen propaganda and mobilize people's consensus in the process of site clearance and construction of key traffic works.

With high determination and clear orientation, Thieu Hoa commune is gradually concretizing the goal of developing traffic infrastructure associated with urban planning, aiming to build Thieu Hoa into a dynamic administrative, economic and social center of the region, aiming to develop into a ward by 2030.
